Trying to register my ipod on nomad and i'm logged onto the ncsu wifi and i'm able to get to nomad.ncsu.edu and log in, but once i click "add device" it says "Error: In order to register a device you must be on Nomad or be a system administrator."What does this mean?

use a computer to add the mac address to your list of devices

I've done it before on my laptop and an ipod and it's always worked. I'm in the lab now and i tried going to nomad.ncsu.edu and adding a device there but it gives me the same error.

if you are in the lab you aren't on nomad....assuming by in a lab you meant you are on a lab pcotherwise move along

^yes i know i'm not on nomad wireless if i'm on a lab computer. So the only way to register a device is from the device on nomad? I'm on the ncsu nomad on my ipod and it still says "Error: In order to register a device you must be on Nomad or be a system administrator."Which doesn't make any sense because i'm on nomad on my ipod.

double check which SSID you are on

On ncsu. But i think i've been able to do it on ncsu-guest also. This is weird.

^ no, you can't do it on ncsu-guest. the system is designed to make you register from the device with the MAC being recorded.if it's not letting you register ON the device, then you need to send an e-mail to help@ncsu.edu.also, please keep in mind that some addresses for Nomad migrated over the weekend, so it's possible that you may have found a glitch in the registration process.

I thought you could register a device from a different computer. It allows you to enter the mac address whether it's from that device or not.

works now. Must of been a glitch.
