Wait, I thought he did that ages ago. Afterall, he is a rabid democrat.
10/31/2008 9:25:40 AM
^ quite the sense of humor you have there
10/31/2008 9:26:41 AM
The only reason he did it is because it's the cool thing to do.
10/31/2008 9:31:34 AM
Mr. Colbert is a republican. He has said it before. Plz watch his show more.
10/31/2008 9:34:20 AM

Stephen Colbert, the real person, is a democrat. Stephen Colbert, the character he plays on his show, is a raving conservative. It isn't that hard to figure out.
10/31/2008 12:33:51 PM
we are still a center right country lol

Shhhh. Don't tell them! Some of them still believe.
10/31/2008 12:57:57 PM
Ive only met one person who was insanely conservative enough to think he was serious and still like him. But then, she never gets jokes.
10/31/2008 1:00:27 PM
so im confused. which stephen colbert endorsed obama?
10/31/2008 1:00:39 PM
the tv colbertthe conservative
10/31/2008 1:03:13 PM
he endorsed obama, but said he's voting mccain...lol
10/31/2008 1:04:29 PM
That's part of the genius behind the character, because Colbert represents an insane conservative that hates any change whatsoever. So naturally, Colbert will only vote for the GOP. However, using his insane conservative logic, he could endorse anyone he wants, because endorsements don't matter unless you give someone your "...blood, sweat, and tears hard-earned money."[Edited on October 31, 2008 at 1:14 PM. if you're confused, just watch the clip in the first link. It's pretty clear. He "endorsed Obama" because of the recent flood of influential Conservatives who have done the same.
10/31/2008 2:10:19 PM
the comments made me laugh even more
10/31/2008 4:40:50 PM
He's been on the air for years now, I can't believe people still don't get the joke.
10/31/2008 4:48:51 PM
wait a minute... people out there actually believe Colbert's on air personality is real???wow.

11/3/2008 5:40:24 AM
It's all based on Papa Bear.

He presents himself as Republican, then uses self-demoralizing humor to defend his positions. Its really hard to debate this type of comedy because if someone calls him out, it was just a joke.....even though some in his audience takes comedy driven material and uses it as absolute fact.I know a few people who use his material in political discussions.

I saw that particular talking points (the rerun was on tonight) and it was very clever satire. The writers really kicked it up a notch before election day.
