Just go somewhere like Office Max and sit in all the chairs until you find one you like. That's how I found my current chair which I love.

ok, so i'm hijacking this thread i've had an aeron in the last 3 offices i've been in, and currently i have a mirra.the Herman Miller rep was just here with an Embody, it is by far the best chair i've ever sit in. if you ever get a chance, try it, it feels so good and gives you a LOT of upper back support for helping keep your eyes level with the screen w/out perching like some people do with the aeron (b/c of the fixed back). the embody chair's back really flexes to put the right pressure in the right spots.another cool feature is the seat, if you look at the front of the bottom of the seat (just under where your knees would go) there's two handles on each side that "roll" out the fabric to adjust how deep the seat comes forward (adjustment for people with different upper leg dimensions) so the seat is never too deep or too shallow.the wider seat really gives you a sense of stability and the narrow back allows for LOTS of arm movement, it's really a great great chair.lastly they greatly improved the arm adjustments, instead of the hard to adjust knobs, they made it to a simple push button you press and can adjust the arms in/out, or higher/lower with a click of a buttonSO tempted to buy one.

^^chances are if the offices are in San Jose or Tokyo, we designed 'em.

we have some herman miller shit at my office and it wasn't until my boss mentioned it that i realized that i was getting comfy (somewhat) in a 900+ dollar chair every day. shits retarded that we have $50k in chairs in just my section of the office.http://www.hermanmiller.com/CDA/SSA/Product/1,1592,a10-c440-p8,00.htmli also got an email saying they spent 10mil in cell phones/ blackberry bills last year ( i dont even have one). i guess its water under the bridge.200ppl in my office that is one of ~50 in the country = $millions in offices chairs. dumb[Edited on November 2, 2008 at 1:11 AM. ^^^^ Not dumb. Millions of dollars invested in something that could potentially prevent millions in health care claims and higher insurance premiums? Smart.

we have manly hermn miller and bodybuilt chairs where i work. The miller chairs are better, the new bodybuilts are nice, but the old ones were shit and fell apart. At home i have a dcent $100 dollar chair i picked up from Samsclub. Honestly, it feels as good as my herman miller, as the arms are fixed and at a better height.I dont like the mesh on the herman miller chairs. It ends up rubbing my pants (on nice pants it will rub on your wallet, and make a wallet outline)They are more ergonomic, but most people dont set them up right to begin with so its kinda wasted money. The $500+ you spend on a nice chair is only worth it if you use the ajustments to make it feel like a $500 chair. Most of the people in the office dont do anything but ajust the heigh, so they feel no better than a standard $50 staples chair. Also note that some of the chairs have different sizes for differen heights/weights of people. Make sure you get the one thats right for you (my chairs base isnt long enough)
