yep

It's his talent and life to use however he wants. You may have done things differently if you were blessed with his talent, but you weren't. The only reason to care about how someone else lives their life is if it affects you, and his life probably doesn't. It's not like he's a drain on society.
10/30/2008 9:26:15 AM
^good lord dude. i didn't say i had a problem with him wasting his talent, just that he wasted it. what john daly does is his business. but it is not unfair of anyone to point out that he has wasted his talent. most golf coaches around the world and players say he has the best set of hands and touch they have ever seen. he has won four tournaments and missed 1000 cuts. that is wasting talent.
10/30/2008 9:30:16 AM
You're not wrong, and you didn't say he was a "waste of life," which implies judgment.
10/30/2008 9:34:37 AM
I didnt say he was a drain on society. I said he was a waste of life, as in he is not doing anything productive nor is he utilizing the talents he has. While maybe I worded it differently and perhaps more bluntly than kbncsufan, I believe my statement is a fair one.I don't think someone's life has to affect me for me to comment on it. Its simply my opinion on the matter.[Edited on October 30, 2008 at 9:52 AM. Reason : ]

I'd say if he wants to live his life like that, then he's not wasting his talent at all. Seriously, what other person can spend his life in a drunken-party state, showing up for interviews without clothes on, and still be a hero to so many? John Daly.Without having natural talent, he's just an everyday fuck up. But because he has talent, he's able to pretty much live the life he wants to live. So for that, I'd say he's made good use of his talent, just not on a golf course.Kind of a backwards way of looking at things, but the guy seems to be enjoying his life.

just goes to show the minimum amount of athleticism in golf

He sleeps with his eyes open??
11/3/2008 10:46:22 AM
^Yeah, that was definitely odd. It would scare the crap out of me. Still, he's a guy I can't help but root for. From the article:As for the fallout from his night of fun in North Carolina?"Just tell my true fans that I love them," he said. "If they give up on me, I'll understand. But I've still got to play golf. I've still got to earn a living. I'm not sure I'll ever be back to where I was, but I'm going to keep trying."
