Serious question....let's say that I'm one of those people who earns jack shit..... what actually qualifies me to get the money? Do I apply for them like unemployment? But what if I'm an illegal immigrant? Do I need to show proof of anything like that I have a job or have held a job?
10/21/2008 3:12:04 PM
since you dont make any money, you should probably have a bunch of kids to maximize your "credits"
10/21/2008 3:14:12 PM
well how does the government know that I need the money? Do I apply?
10/21/2008 3:15:54 PM
I would think you would have to contact a social worker. If you are a student, you wouldnt qualify.

How many times (years) am I allowed to apply for the credit? What if I'm an illegal immigrant? What if I earn $0?
10/21/2008 5:48:16 PM
the less you earn, the better! That means there's more wealth that needs to be spread your way
10/21/2008 5:49:25 PM
OP:Do you file taxes? Are you a fucking moron?
10/21/2008 5:53:46 PM
You apply at the same offices where they give out food stamps. Don't drive up in a BMW or they might get suspicious. They will pay in Obama bucks:
10/21/2008 5:54:32 PM
God: Yes. I file taxes. No, I'm not a fucking moron.I was just trying to understand how the tax cuts are going to be given out and with what guards there will be to protect the abuse, much like the abuse of all government programs.

i don't get this thread
10/21/2008 6:05:59 PM
We already have a whole gaggle of tax credits and incentive programs out there, Obama is just piling a few more on.Its just more legalese for your tax filing software or accountant to sort out by April 15th. If you fit into a certain demographic or you're in the habit of lying on your tax returns, you might get a break.[Edited on October 21, 2008 at 6:07 PM. Reason : 2]

It's telling that local republitard squad has no idea who gets the "wealth redistribution", how they get it, and who qualifies for it. GG guys!
10/21/2008 7:12:40 PM
^ How does one go about finding this out?

Start herehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earned_income_tax_creditEITC replaced the "welfare" that the right likes to bash like 10 years ago, here's the old "welfare"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temporary_Assistance_for_Needy_FamiliesBut don't mind me, feel free to keep trashing a program you don't know anything about.
10/21/2008 7:25:27 PM
YOU MEAN HE'S NOT JUST THROWING MONEY BAGS INTO WELFARE QUEENS' MERCEDES?
10/21/2008 7:41:43 PM
Fair Tax ftw
10/21/2008 8:04:31 PM
The fair tax is wealth redistribution, commie.
10/21/2008 8:28:05 PM
haha, wow, it looks like someone has no clue how taxes work.m2c, how would a rich person get McCain's tax credit? If you know the answer to that, you should be able to figure out the answer to this.
10/21/2008 8:33:11 PM
have three babies with three different men.

It's funny that people hate the idea of "redistribution of wealth" when at the same time, Bush gives tax cuts to his rich comrades, so they want to vote republican which means McCain, but McCain wants to make the Bush tax cuts permanent, meaning the rich guys still get their tax cuts and middle class gets fucked...
10/22/2008 9:25:40 PM
What the fuck are you babbling about? The Bush tax cuts were across-the-board tax cuts. The middle class is hardly getting fucked, considering that they pay quite a bit less of their income in taxes than they did in the '80s and '90s.
10/22/2008 9:33:03 PM
How does the middle class get fucked in that scenario? The Bush tax cuts CUT middle class taxes by a good margin... So, because the rich also got their taxes cut means others are getting fucked? That is terrible/scary logic.
10/22/2008 9:34:25 PM
because so many people drink the obama kool-ade without even understanding what he's proposing. And certainly having no idea of what the alternatives are or the current situation is
10/22/2008 9:42:25 PM
Oh by all means Noen, please tell me what Obama is proposing.Maybe LoneSnark can jump in for added comedy with his rationalization of money and material worth not being equal to wealth.
10/23/2008 1:42:02 AM
aaaaaaaaaaahahahahhaha...had to read it twice to get it...but def made me lol

Narry a peep from the Right on McCain's even more massive redistribution of wealth program (healthcare).
10/23/2008 12:26:36 PM
except that mccains health care crap would never get passed my dem loaded congress
10/23/2008 12:44:46 PM
He is still proposing a massive wealth redistribution program. That in avoidable and it shows the lack of honesty amongst the right.
10/23/2008 12:47:30 PM
how so nuts? Of the two, McCains healthcare plan is a step in the right direction.[Edited on October 23, 2008 at 1:37 PM. Reason : .]

What? How could a tax exemption possibly be viewed as redistribution of wealth?
10/23/2008 1:46:13 PM
It's not a tax exemption. It is giving people $2,500 to buy health insurance. It is a credit, not an exemption.
10/23/2008 1:47:05 PM
Damn, another TWW poster who doesn't understand how tax credits work.So sad
10/23/2008 1:48:09 PM
damn, another twwer who doesn't know the difference between exemption and credit.
10/23/2008 1:48:53 PM
Eh, true, it's not a tax exemption. But they aren't giving people $2,500 to buy health insurance. They give it directly to the insurance companies under McCain's plan.
10/23/2008 1:56:46 PM
nuts, its ONE set of rules. Everyone is eligible for the credit, seems fair to me. At least a step in the right direction.Santa, allowing someone to keep more of what they earned is not wealth redistribution. Now taking money from one and giving it to another who didnt earn it..IS.Im not for raising anyones taxes, but im not selfish enough to think I deserve some of someone elses money.
10/23/2008 1:57:53 PM
10/23/2008 2:04:32 PM
I LOVE HSAs. How are the ones penalized who get it through thier employer? Unless you have a really expensive plan and are in a higher bracket, its just not true.Nuts, Im all for you and I, and EVERYONE ELSE taking home more of the money they earn. But let me ask you, will more people be getting more money that they didnt earn under Obamas plan than the current one? (with regards to income)
10/23/2008 2:10:41 PM
yes
10/23/2008 2:16:08 PM
10/23/2008 2:18:57 PM
no, bc they have made a decision to take thier employers costly healthcare plan. They still have a choice.. unlike a raise in income tax. They could choose to buy it on thier own, or get a less expensive plan.. but they do have CHOICES. See the difference?
