HAHAHAHAHAH hadnt seen that yet...that ref lays the lumber]
10/20/2008 9:27:31 PM
He definitely had a flashback to his playing days. PTI said he played linebacker back in the day.
10/20/2008 9:28:11 PM
it looks 100% intentional, but damn i just can't imagine a ref doing thatIN TORN, YOif you are bracing for a hit (for which you are out of the way completely of the player's path) you don't lunge into the player
10/20/2008 9:28:44 PM
lolol

i just can't understand why a bigger deal hasnt been made out of this. i couldnt find anything on espn about it and i even heard cowherd and tirico rant about how insane it was on the radio today. how does this not make the news?
10/20/2008 9:34:12 PM
It was on PTI today.
10/20/2008 9:39:04 PM
because its South Carolina that it hurt, now had it hurt LSU it would have been bigger news. It does look like the Umpire tryed to take him down. I am sure South Carolina's AD is looking into this, it sure looks intentional.
10/20/2008 9:45:15 PM
he got off without anything, it didn't effect the outcome of the game anyway i'm pretty sure.
10/20/2008 9:53:24 PM
haha, and the SEC blew it off as the ref just being where he was supposed to be.
10/20/2008 10:11:10 PM
I thought that was a commercial when I first saw it -- like the ref was going to pull a budlight out and everyone would have a good laugh.if intentional, that's some seriously funny/fucked up shit ...
10/20/2008 10:24:30 PM
Can't remember...did SC score a touchdown on that possession?
10/20/2008 10:31:56 PM
i wonder who the play by play credits with the tackle
10/20/2008 10:45:25 PM
Its possible that he couldn't get out of the way. Looks like he was drawn into a run up the middle, and then when the QB came straight at him he couldn't get out of the way fast enough so he decided to save himself.[Edited on October 20, 2008 at 10:53 PM. Reason : hard to tell]

gg refif you get taken down by someone with no pads, then you don't deserve to make it to the endzone

i love the guy's reaction when he gets up. he's like "did the ref really just fucking hit me? wtf?"

How anyone can watch that and say the Referee was trying to get out of the way is beyond me.
10/21/2008 10:16:46 AM
Yeah I mean the ref clearly pushes off with his right leg toward the player as he's bringing up his armsif he'd have stood his ground where he was initially he would not have even been in the way of the guy

That was the second time during that drive that same ref got in the way.
10/21/2008 10:44:18 AM
can you imagine what the outrage would be if some ref had done that to one of our guys??i can only imagine what would be said on here and everywhere else about how everyone hates us
10/21/2008 11:07:49 AM
^Haha. If it was during a Carolina game? Absolute meltdown.
10/21/2008 11:17:52 AM
the field would be littered with paper airplanes
10/21/2008 11:24:20 AM
how anyone can see this and not think "intentional".....i don't know how. He literally chops his feet like a linebacker, gets in the way of the QB and lunges at him with his shoulder. Why is no one looking into this?? Everyone from the news, to the coaches seem to just be letting it go and joking about it. You better believe if i was a South Carolina fan I would be pissed off. Les Miles was quoted as saying, "This kind of stuff happens so often during games..." No les, it doesn't. Never in my life have I seen, in an actual game, a ref lay a shoulder to a player(a QB no less).
10/21/2008 9:40:41 PM
the NFL needs more refs like thatfuck the protect the QB shit
10/21/2008 10:49:23 PM
It's obvious the ref LINED up for the hit...he moved his feet and got ready, not to mention the blatant shoulder...I'm shocked this isn't a big deal. WTF?oh wait its the SEC...thats right, how much money did this clown get?
10/22/2008 1:14:14 AM
I've never been a ref, so that's what's reserving me from saying -- "wow, wtf he drilled that kid".I have got to believe that in no way that was intentional...

10/22/2008 2:33:06 AM
either he takes down lumber (he would have been taken down anyway) or he moves more into marlon favorite's way and gives SC a possible touchdown. i think given the options he picked the "more fair" of the two.[Edited on October 22, 2008 at 2:52 AM. Reason : !!!]
