Who else is getting this game. I love Oblivion, but I could not hack not having guns, so I tossed it from my gaming agenda, but now Fallout 3 has caught my attention, and I got to have it.http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/fallout3/video/6194162/fallout-3-e3-2008-stage-show-demo-2?tag=videos;title;13

You can shoot magic bolts in Oblivion which is practically the same as guns.

Yeah I know this, but I just have to have guns DAWG.

Wait, this shit is like oblivion, but with guns in a post apocalyptic world?....[gonna get considered]

It looks exactly like Oblivion.I feel like Bethesda is ahead of themselves at this point.Yes, you can make an incredibly huge and graphically detailed game world, but it doesn't feel alive. I can't see an appreciable difference between Morrowind and Oblivion other than graphics. From the gameplay videos of Fallout 3 it doesn't look like they've really added much to the pot. They're good/great games, and I don't know how to describe it but I feel like they don't live up to the expectations they set for themselves. They're just so huge and grandiose but they end up feeling lifeless to me.

How alive should a post apocalyptic world should be?
10/18/2008 10:00:20 PM
I had actually typed "not that a post-apocalyptic world would be very "alive"," in my previous post but deleted it before posting. I guess I mean that the worlds that they create are not as engaging as they are vast and beautiful.

Well I sure would not like to fight every 5 seconds i a world as big as this game. Take GTA for example, it feels very alive, but what do you do in the game besides run around doing mindless shit or missions? At least in this game you are looking for and hoarding stuff, making decisions based on how you are playing the game and so forth.[Edited on October 18, 2008 at 10:15 PM. Reason : /]

Oblivion is one of my favorite games since Deus Ex, so if this is anything like that, i'll love it.I know nothing about the previous Fallouts though, which has me a bit concerned.
10/18/2008 10:21:38 PM
The other Fallouts are so old that they probably are not significant enough to even weigh in on your decision about this particular game.

I'm buying this one.We still play Oblivion at my apartment. Having guns will only enhance that.

did you even look for the previous thread? I mean.. same exact title as this one.. come on.

I've been looking forward to this game for most of this year, unfortunately I don't have a PS3/plasma to really enjoy it on. I hadn't thought I'd be able to play it period with my older laptop but I just bought one of these new macbooks that just came out. Anyone know if I could handle and decent Fallout graphics on these specs:2.0GHz * Intel Core 2 Duo * 4GB DDR3 Memory * 160GB hard drive1 * NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphic?[Edited on October 19, 2008 at 8:26 AM. yep, got the collector's edition pre-orderedI played the first two, but all of the plotlines are mutually exclusive.
