Do you ever get your information from legitimate sources? The New York Post? And before, The Washington Times? Ha.
10/15/2008 8:31:56 PM
The quote about "spread the wealth around" is from a pretty credible source: Barack Obama. There are audio clips if you don't believe me. I'm sure I can find one on youtube real quick if you would like.Let alone the fact that half of the great credible sources in TSB are DailyKos, huffingtonpost, and other heavily liberal biased sites.[Edited on October 15, 2008 at 8:46 PM. Reason : .]
10/15/2008 8:45:52 PM
i agree that those sites are liberally biased. but i wasn't talking about political leanings.
10/15/2008 8:52:22 PM
wait, a democrat wants to redistribute wealth? STOP THE PRESSES!
10/15/2008 9:00:13 PM
Doesn't change what Obama said though, I mean if you are saying that Obama didn't say that and they are making it up fine, but to ignore what he said and just complain because it's the NYPost, is a little weak.
10/15/2008 9:03:37 PM
what you are failing to mention is that all the small business owners and rich people who are going to suffer under Obamas tax plan are all the greedy wall street people who caused this financial crisis and they must be punished. Obama will punish all those evil rich people - they made their money unethically and without regard to the poor people
10/15/2008 10:54:56 PM
^lol
10/15/2008 11:04:45 PM
IF the media will take this point up, which is doubtful, a plumber might have done what the mccain campaign couldnt.... paint obama as a socialist. That plumber could be man of the year.
10/15/2008 11:06:18 PM
I agree. that plumber will have won the election for McCain if McCain wins

Joe the Plumber action figure--now with P-trap grip (pipe wrench and Draino sold separately).
10/15/2008 11:20:59 PM
Joe the Plumber single handedly defeats socialism in america!!!!!!that would make a great story.
10/15/2008 11:22:26 PM
good thing there aren't any existing threads this could have gone in b/c i might have missed.

CEOs Favor McCain 4 to 1
10/15/2008 11:26:46 PM
10/15/2008 11:40:31 PM
yes, it would be one thing if you were asked. Obama won't be politely "asking" them to do that. He'll be demanding it, or he'll throw their ass in jail. That's a massive difference. It's also a massive difference when he demands that the top 1% pay 90% of the country's taxes. that's just a little fucking different
10/15/2008 11:43:15 PM
9on9The problem is when you have a politician telling you what you can do with your money and taking it against your will. You have every right to give your money to whoever you want. And if you are really interested in doing so I suggest you give directly to that charity or individual, and not through a corrupt govt.Im morally opposed to any politician assuming it owns a right to ones property and think it knows a better way to use it than the actual owner.I dont think youll disagree with that.

^^^ hey, I'm the country's elected leader, and I need to fuck your wife in order to help the country. ok?[Edited on October 15, 2008 at 11:51 PM. Reason : ]
10/15/2008 11:50:55 PM
a plausible argument!
10/15/2008 11:54:37 PM
so 9, its pretty clear that the country needs alot more money now.. you could give extra NOW, bc your country needs it.Somehow I bet you dont, bc deep down you seem to be another selfish dem.
10/15/2008 11:54:49 PM
I'm not sure what you're trying to say (admittedly I'm not trying that hard to)but no, i dont give money to shit RIGHT NOWbecause I was out of work until two weeks ago (shitty economy? maybe my resume sucks...), have a baby due in two weeks, and still dont have all the shit needed for when that time comesbut my point wasnt about struggling young parents, it was about millionaires crying about their millions
10/15/2008 11:59:36 PM
yes, but you said you would give more if your elected leader said it was needed to fix shit.Well its needed, but why dont you give more now? You said you would?
10/16/2008 12:01:45 AM
well without their millions they cant hire you can they?If they lost it fair and square im all for letting them eat it and allowing their businesses to go titsup. I am not in favor of taxing a functioning business to make up for failed businesses or individuals.
10/16/2008 12:03:08 AM
lolpay attention to this quote bubble and its content
10/16/2008 12:03:46 AM
10/16/2008 12:04:45 AM
^ youre obviously a nut job so im not focusing too much on what you have to say
10/16/2008 12:06:09 AM
9on9, I knew what your point is.. But what im trying to illustrate to you is you have no idea what financial commitments someone with a higher salary has, just as they have no idea what your commitments are. That is why its immoral for you to assume how much or little someone else needs of their income that they worked for. THAT was my point. However, you tried to go noble and say you would give 100ks more if that is waht your leader needed to fix shit.. well why dont you give more now? Since you feel its ok for other to give to fix shit.. but you seem unwilling to sacrifice some of your income to help out.You dont see your views as the least bit selfish?
10/16/2008 12:09:04 AM
The irony being if your taxes were lower you'd be able to spend more. The same goes for businesses and other individuals. If joe the plumber doesn't have to pay a bunch of taxes on his 250k, he can afford to hire more people or give them better salaries. And if those salaries aren';t taxed heavily, then those people have more to spend.Whereas if the fed gets Joes money, he has fewer employees, lower wages, and cant afford to give them benefits. And the tax money just goes into a black hole. It comes out the otherside going to businesses that failed and failed programs.
10/16/2008 12:13:01 AM
again my attention is diverted, so i stopped here
10/16/2008 12:15:26 AM
I coudl argue you are living above your means if you dont have any extra income. And I think i would be correct. You are missing my point completely, which I believe is intentional bc you know you cant defend your position. Which sounds like straight envy.
10/16/2008 12:19:35 AM
what you're aren't understanding is that while you think millionares aren't using that "extra" money, unless they're idiots they are. Lower taxes means you have money for your kid and millionares have more money to give you. If you rely on a middleman to take his cut and pass on the rest, you'll end up with less overall.
10/16/2008 12:20:13 AM
10/16/2008 12:21:20 AM
toodles!
10/16/2008 12:21:59 AM
Im just saying you need to live within your means. Isnt that your arguement towards others?good night, and congrats on your baby.
10/16/2008 12:23:01 AM
so if he raises taxes on the upper 5% and cuts taxes on the bottom 95% how is this "spreading the wealth around". no one has explained this yet.
10/16/2008 9:22:25 AM
Let me correct this logical fallacy...Barack Obama is NOT Robin Hood.Barack Obama is NOT a common man taking tax money and giving it to the poor. Barack Obama does NOT know how to use a bow (or gun for NRA nuts).Barack Obama IS more like Prince Charles taking tax money from the rich and asking the most honorable Sheriff of Nottingham to hand it out. Barack Obama WOULD play a better "Dave Chappelle" in tights than John McCain.
10/16/2008 9:36:18 AM
This thread makes me want to vote for Obama. If he could shoot a bow and fight with sword and staff, it'd be a done deal.
10/16/2008 9:39:56 AM
^^^Because the upper incomes have a large tax increase to pay for his programs, while the lower class gets refundable tax credits. A present example is Earned Income Credit, which nearly eliminates FICA/Medicare tax for lower income families. Around a third of filers pay nothing besides the payroll tax ... or the net after EIC. 0bama wants to go beyond that, handing out welfare checks for college tuition, mortgage interest, savings, child care expenses, expanding the earned income credit, and "make work pay."
10/16/2008 10:13:33 AM
Obama wants to raise taxes 3% on people making between 250k a year and $1m a year. The largest tax increase would be for people making over $1m a year. Why are you people fighting so hard for this incredibly small fraction of society that I doubt any of you belong to? You do realize that without the middle class, there is no America, right? How can we buy all the things that the CEO's companies make if we have no money with which to buy it? The middle class is getting left in the dust compared to the upper class and even moreso compared to the super upper class. It's about time all you people got with the program and reined in these people who don't give a flying fuck about you. This is the only chance we have to exert what little power and influence we have over them and you dumbasses are too busy arguing in favor of them to get your heads out of your asses. They control more of our lives than we do theirs 364 days a year and this is the once chance every couple of years to even the stakes. McCain will not do this. Obama will.Money is power and the top 1% control a shitload more power than they deserve. This has nothing to do with punishing success. This has to do with rewarding ourselves for all the hard work we subject ourselves to in order to make these people rich. They have nothing without us and yet they fail to realize it. How about we actually band together and take some of it back for ourselves rather than let the country go to complete shit while the rich line their pockets? We can do it now or we can burn the mother fucker to the ground when we realize there's nothing left. I prefer now.

10/16/2008 10:48:25 AM
Do you think the jackasses on Wall Street were considering whether what they were doing was WRONG while they were making millions of dollars fucking the economy over? No, so this is just evening the odds a little bit.Money is power and they have a shitload more money than you. WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!
10/16/2008 10:50:41 AM
yes, so we should TAKE IT right. Like we have a right to someone elses things.. lets TAKE IT!!!!grow up.
10/16/2008 10:52:35 AM
We should take it. Because they have the power to take money from us on an everyday basis through higher costs on goods and whatnot. They don't give a fuck about me so I will reciprocate. You seem to be forgetting that we're going to be owing the government an additional $700 B over the next couple of years. Personally, having not seen a fucking dime of profit out of the chaos that created this mess, I would like to have my share subsidized by the people who did make a profit off of all this because my life is going to be a shitload harder now. When the economy's going good... fine, let them keep their money. Everyone is being pulled up and everyone is happy. But when they stop realizing that the little man is more important to the welfare of the country than the fat cat, I want to make them bleed. This IS class warfare, and THEY're winning right now because the government is bailing THEM out. YOU are not part of this minority and YOU are losing in this. WAKE THE FUCK UP.
