I realize that there's a Mahoney thread, but I thought I'd put it in simple terms and ask a question:Person A: A house representative engages in sending sexually explicit IMs to an intern a page .Person B: A house representative engages in an extra-marital affair and uses campaign money to shut her up.]]

I have no intuitions about which is worse. Not kidding. Both are bad.
10/15/2008 2:45:35 PM
is said intern over 18? in that case (b) is worseif the intern is under 18 then (a) is worse
10/15/2008 2:47:31 PM
I guess the question is better phrased...which is worse for the American people..... Personally I find hypocrisy worse and since person B replaced person A, on the grounds that he would bring back 'morality'... plus he's using campaign money which is unforgivable and should be unforgivable to the People
10/15/2008 2:50:10 PM
it depends where the campaign money originated
10/15/2008 2:50:55 PM
intern implies college-aged student. it was a page, they're always high school students.
10/15/2008 2:51:56 PM
person A was texting pages not interns.
10/15/2008 2:53:00 PM
i didnt know there was a difference between the two
10/15/2008 2:53:58 PM
So B is a hypocrite for his actions, where A is not a hypocrite for being politically anti-homosexual?
10/15/2008 3:13:00 PM
both are the actions of a lowlife scumbag.
10/15/2008 3:34:16 PM
John McCain had an affair, therefore the cheating scumbag is obviously worse than the sick pedophile.
10/15/2008 3:38:20 PM
huh? um.....ok....well did McCain use campaign money to pay off his mistress?
10/15/2008 3:41:27 PM
I think he dumped the wife he cheated on and married the mistress, isn't that just as bad?
10/15/2008 3:44:12 PM
So what's the point? Are you complaining about media coverage?Because, I'm sure all of America is more concerned about this than the Dow and the election.
10/15/2008 4:08:50 PM
I'm just wondering how there are certain things that all of a sudden become more important than others when it's convenient. And I'm talking about both sides here....it just seems, that because there are more left-leaning major media outlets, it happens whenever a democrat is involved in a scandal.I mean if you guys actually believe that text messaging a 16 year old page about sex is worse than using public funds to quiet your mistress up....then.......I mean half of you are equally bad with all the underage sex talk that goes on....and it might be just 'talk' but that's the exact same thing as is the case with person A.
10/15/2008 5:53:40 PM
Are you kidding me? Talking (joking) about underage sex is as bad as directly contacting someone underage and having sexual conversations with them?Oh and again
10/16/2008 11:21:47 AM
Person B is worse. You might argue and say that well, Person A would have done stuff had he not been exposed. OK. There is no way to know that. We can only judge based on what transpired.Person B is not only sexually corruptm but politically as well for using the money ti shut her up.BTW, who are these 2 people? Is B John Edwards? Who is A?
10/16/2008 11:35:21 AM
Person A is paedophile Mark Foley and Person B is Foley's replacement Tim Mahoney.
10/16/2008 12:11:03 PM
Sexually harassing minors is worse. Taxpayer money was no doubt involved in that, too, even if it wasn't part of a coverup.
10/16/2008 2:22:01 PM
Yeah, and plus that shit was gay as hell. And GOP leaders knew about it, but tried to hush it up because it could hurt their chances of retaining a Senate majority.[Edited on October 16, 2008 at 3:42 PM. Reason : 2]

um not to sound like the grand moral authority here...but foley(a dude) trying to fuck young teen dudes is more fucked up than this other dude fucking some women
