Just putting it together w/ an intake will put 300 at the crank

w/ nitrous would easily hold 400-450

I would not recommend forced induction

[Edited on October 14, 2008 at 5:24 PM. Reason : due to the port and polish]

Nice exaggeration
anyone with even minor experience with these motors knows that is not true.
you've got junk2 cams and a p&p and you think that pushed you up 100hp?

HAHAHA 300hp.. seriously.

wow

but yeah, you've got some junk man. sorry.

its a blown motor. not really much salvaging it.. and even if you do, it requires a rebuild and machining.

ill offer uhhh $25

Block is fine, head is fine. crank is fine

needs a connecting rod only

Don't know, just what i've been told, it's been sitting a year. Sold the accord it was going into. just gotta get rid of it. transmission is worth 200 at least cams cam gears are close to 700 by themselves,

CONSIDER IT PARTS ONLY 0HP that with $800 you could have at least 270 hp

A complete uncut harness is also worth a little bit of loot, come on guys, I just need to get rid of this shit

It's been stored covered under plastic.

The cams/head work has less than 2-3K miles on it, I've been told the head and block have been checked out by a machine shop but I make no expressed waranties, you should get everything checked out yourself

you can do it the wrong way and just "replace a connecting rod" or the right way as baonest said and you'll have to put a bit of money into it to get it going.

regardless

300HP is an absolutely ABSURD number to be throwing out there for what you're offering. not a chance in hell.

I'm done w/ 4-bangers, if anybody wants this "piece of shit" I'll make you a deal.

Quit hating on it, the individual parts available here are worth MUCH more than I'm selling all of this for, you cannot deny that. The head has less than 1K miles on it since the work was done. No damage to the valves or cams. The block is in great shape.

My plan was to put a fresh set of pistons on there, shorten the stroke, put a reinforced/knife edge crank, and stick a bottle on it. This is a great motor for building, I never said it wouldn't need work.

If it were fully stock I wouldn't be selling it for more than $200, but it's not and there are a lot of valuable parts included.

First you need to post what went wrong with the motor?

Did it spin a rod bearing?

Did a rod snap? did you over rev the thing?

If the rod snapped, it is possible the piston hit the valves and trashed the head.

Rod broke, valves have been checked out and are not bent. head is perfect.

I didn't do anything to the motor, bought it this way with the intention of building the whole thing.

Do rods often break on Hondas that haven't been juiced liberally?

OP --- if you had just come in and said what you had and what was wrong with it you would have been better off.

instead you gave limited info (didn't mention which stage cams?)
and then started throwing out crazy hp numbers leading anyone interested to believe you have no clue about the parts and motor....thereby making them more skeptical about the problems you also provided limited info on.

just for reference most of these motors on the prelude stock put down about 160whp.
you have listed the ricer special for additional parts (cams, cam gears, pulleys).
this motor in good condition bolted up to otherwise stock parts (header, exhaust) may put you between 180-200whp but it may need to be tuned to produced that.

Assuming you included a custom header (not off the shelf, most of which run $800-$1000) and a full mandrel bent exhaust and then when and had it tuned you would still be lucky to hit 220whp.

If you had notions of something different then i can see why you say

I had detailed info in garage, thread got locked and deleted before i could copy it over here

I was getting offers of 750+ off craigslist thought you guys might want a bunch of spare parts for a good deal.

if not fine
believe it or not, there isn't a scratch on the block.

stage 2 cams

I haven't touched this motor in 6 months, theres alot more stuff done to it, the reason it's 500 is the limited info I'm providing, I JUST WANT TO GET RID OF IT

It's a good deal. I was stating power at the crank 10-18 drive line losses would put between 246 hp - 270 hp at the wheels That I'm sure you could get out of this provided you tune it using a Hondata computer (could get one for $200)

Please no speculation unless you are interested in getting this
