A sequel to the original http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/This version focuses mainly on the "corporatocracy" we live in:http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7065205277695921912Kinda puts a very interesting perspective on things....
10/11/2008 6:51:30 PM
it gets into some cool technology ideas towards the later half of the video. i guess these would be good things to recommend to Google's 10^100th project: http://www.project10tothe100.com/index.html
10/11/2008 7:28:02 PM
Pretty interesting perspective
10/12/2008 4:20:20 AM
its so true, we are slaves to the "man"
10/12/2008 10:17:27 AM
Yes, I'm liking this.Technology and technocracy for the win.
10/12/2008 5:39:32 PM
the "Venus Project" seems like it wants to resemble Star Trek TNG, it would be pretty cool if it does
10/12/2008 7:27:01 PM
It's an old idea, dating back to the 1910s. I'm thrilled to see the concepts of technocracy reaching so many folks. I'd considered the movement marginal in the extreme.
10/12/2008 7:33:44 PM
I prefer the tinfoil-hat angle of the original...
10/13/2008 12:06:29 PM
I remember being much less impressed by the original.
10/13/2008 12:11:40 PM
Is zeitgeist the one where a guy says that all the religions are basically the same and a cabal of Jews runs the economy and the country and blew up the world trade center?
10/13/2008 1:54:53 PM
Hell yeah. That Jewmongering douchebaggery was actually entertaining. What I saw of this one was more like a lesson in the money supply and dirty truths about American foreign policy. ::yawn:: Bring on the NWO, Illuminati, and that mumbo jumbo. It's way more entertaining...
10/13/2008 1:57:50 PM
Why is it never a cabal of Asians? They're smart enough to pull the strings, and the fact that white people can't tell them apart opens all sorts of doors. For example, that they have a hive mind.I've also always wondered how far down the Jewish conspiracy goes. Is everyone in on it, or is it really just the cabal?
10/13/2008 2:01:47 PM
maybe it's a cabal of blacks.
10/13/2008 2:49:15 PM
^^ive noticed the same, asians are never really conspiricized (sp?)
10/13/2008 4:08:20 PM
The most powerful conspiracy is the one you don't know about...NWOAsians: We Run This
10/13/2008 7:33:20 PM
10/14/2008 1:12:50 AM
Wait, so the people being exposed to this modern version of technocracy also believe in a Jewish cabal controlling the world?Ah well. I'll take what I can get.
10/14/2008 10:09:33 AM
When did you turn into the most one-note poster on this site?
10/14/2008 3:07:50 PM
You could probably do a search to find out. That said, check your hate at the door. You can pick it up as you leave; the attendant always keeps it warm. This thread's about a film focusing on the Venus Project, a modern version of technocracy. I'm entirely on topic.

Who controls the British crown?Who keeps the Metric system down?
10/15/2008 10:07:01 PM
We do, we do.
10/16/2008 12:32:56 PM
The Venus Project is bullshithopefully society never gets to something like that
10/18/2008 7:12:05 PM
^^ we have a winner!
10/18/2008 7:18:49 PM
^^ Why do you say that?Do you see our current mix of markets and state enduring out into the distant future?
10/18/2008 11:08:53 PM
^^^Agreed, the Venus Project is a little far fetched. Maybe if we took the top 5% of the nicest people in the world, that included extremely smart people, and started a new colony on another planet.
10/30/2008 11:10:23 PM
Oh, this would work, but transitioning from the current system to the venus project would be the hard part. I guess that's why Peter Joseph wants 1mil people for the movement, 12th monkey effect to speed it up a little bit. But really, Addendum isn't about conspiracy, it's about changing up the system. This has nothing to do with Jews or the Illuminati. But yes, it does disregard religions as mostly bullshit, but that's just because they are.

^JEW ALERT

this film covers a lot in a short amount of time, and is a bit much.there are a few good points however, re: the emergent and symbiotic aspects of natural law.when debates occur on whether markets are efficient or inefficient, i point to molecular biology for answers. the way i see it, markets are semi-efficient, the way DNA replication is semi-conservative. there is a delicate contango between real objective/emperical knowledge and the symbols/allegories we derive/demarcate in order to understand the universe around us. when you break that balance for the sake of conserving artificial value, you get backwardation. 'contango' and 'backwardation' -- two terms all too familiar to comodities traders. these blokes are right when they say that technology will set us free, especially with regards to harnessing FREE energy -- on a 50 year net present value scale, solar & wind energy are legitamately FREE.all the other anti-establishment stuff is a bit over the top.there's one more thing i'd personally like to see incorporated in these peoples' ''resource based economy'' -- it harkens back to my karmic-based faith background: no more animal meat. we can have large scale tissue culture engineering where meat tissue is cloned. the tissue can be engineered to be delicious & healthy and any animal flesh can be cloned
