Discuss. Couldn't find a thread on it.I'm liking this season so far. Last night's episode was ok, last week's was awesome. Nice to learn more about the family tree and everything behind the pilot to get to where we are now.

This is the only thread I could find on the show. I started Netflixing it last month and already made it to season 8. It's pretty addictive. Does anyone else still watch?(Also, 5+ year epic bump)[Edited on January 7, 2014 at 5:22 PM. Reason : -]

I do. This season has really seemed to kick into a higher gear, so there's that to look forward to.I actually might not mind going back and watching on Netflix...I've never recapped since I started watching.

I've never followed along as the shows aired. A few years ago a buddy of mine had every season to that point on dvd so I watched that and now I just wait for netflix to post the new season each year.I've had mixed feelings over the last few seasons. If I remember correctly, the writer had originally planned to end the show after the 5th season from the beginning so everything built to that. And as much as I love the show, I felt that would have been an awesome ending to the series.I still enjoy the show, I just feel its going the route of pretty much every successful show ever made in that they are going to keep it on until it completely sucks and runs into the ground.

I heard it's done after Season 10.

My favorite show!!!Leviathan season sucked. But this season gets two thumbs from me so far!
1/8/2014 7:41:55 PM
This season is much better than the last few.

While the Leviathan story wasn't great, I thought Dick Roman was a fantastic character.

I miss Bobby though.

The one thing I don't like is how characters keep coming back from the dead. It takes away from the emotional feel of losing a character. With Bobby they finally had a heartfelt death, and then they ruined it by ghosting him. The second goodbye was nowhere near as meaningful.

Anyone else still keeping up with this show?
8/10/2015 7:03:02 PM
Yep, still love it. Maybe I shouldn't, but I'm way too invested at this point.
8/11/2015 9:07:41 AM
^exactly. I have to see this to the end.
8/11/2015 9:22:55 AM
Hopefully we'll have a good season or so of the Winchesters not going around behind each other's backs. The lying to each other shit is getting old, need something different for once.

I'm still working my way through season 10...got a little behind. I haven't heard or read anything about the upcoming (and I think final?) season, but I'm really hoping Lucifer and Michael come back. In the meta-musical episode they had a moment of "Oh yeah, we had another brother who's still in a cage," so that put the idea in my head that it's happening.
8/11/2015 9:04:22 PM
Yeah I noticed more than a few tie-ins to previous seasons. I've been hoping to see Lucifer back for a while now.
8/12/2015 7:35:28 AM
I don't believe season 11 will be the final. There has been talk about at least 2 more.
8/12/2015 8:32:53 AM
^I hope that's not true...it's time to let this end (and it has been for a few years). I've enjoyed the season arcs but individual episode quality is down. I'm in it til the end but I'm hoping it comes sooner.

Season 10 was pretty bad. But I'm halfway catching up through season 11 now and it is AWESOME.

For the finale, could they have given any thought using nuclear weapons? A thermonuclear detonation throws out a whole bunch of light. Then again, they said a soul could punch with a hundred suns...but that much light, would vaporize the entire planet. I guess Chuck was going to contain the blast for us? Or maybe the darkness would absorb it all? After-all, heaven smiting was supposed to irradiate the entire area, as it did in a previous episode, but this time it did nothing of the sort. Chuck contained it?

Overthinking it man.Not sure where we go with Mama Winchester for S12, but like this idea of other MoL chapters maybe holding the boys accountable.
5/31/2016 2:34:15 PM
Didn't read a word of the thread, but just signed up for Netflix last month for the first time and got seriously hooked on this show. Only in season 2 right now but love it.
8/2/2016 8:17:35 AM
For real though. There is an argument to be made that you'd be okay stopping after season five. It will depend on how much you're still loving it once you get there.[Edited on August 2, 2016 at 9:21 AM. Reason : ]

Just consider everything after Season 5 as high-budget fan-fiction and you are good.
8/2/2016 10:58:14 AM
There are some fantastic individual episodes in later seasons, but yeah after season 5 the arcs are kind of meh. What is the resurrection count at this point?
8/2/2016 11:19:11 AM
you only live once, unless youre sam and dean
8/2/2016 1:14:22 PM
Just wrapped Season 5 last night.Wow. Just can't get enough of the show. Even though the ending confused the hell out of me.Definitely gotta keep going.
9/2/2016 8:57:05 AM
best season they have had in a long time.
9/2/2016 9:12:07 AM
Don't get your hopes up for season 6. But it does get better again after that.
9/2/2016 5:54:44 PM
^ yeah...about 5 episodes in on season 6 and not feeling it. That's good to hear though.
9/5/2016 2:00:31 PM
It's just hard to raise the stakes after Lucifer and the apocalypse.
9/5/2016 2:07:52 PM
Drovkin, what confused you about the finale?SPOILERS (ignoring all info presented after Season 5):Dean gets a happily-ever-after family life.Sam is possessed by Lucifer and is in hell, forever to have his soul tortured by Michael and Lucifer.Adam's body is in hell possessed by Michael. Adam's soul is not stuck in hell because his body was blown up while Michael possessed it. When Castiel had the same occur, the soul of his vessel "died" and went to heaven, leaving just a body to be possessed by an angel.Chuck, the prophet of God who writes about the Winchesters, actually is God (probably)./SPOILERS[Edited on September 6, 2016 at 3:37 PM. Hearing this is likely the final season.
9/14/2016 4:18:09 PM
CapnObvious, I just meant it was a "wtf" moment of how in the world did that happen. It all was cleared up now that I'm about to the end of Season 6, which has gotten much better halfway through.
9/14/2016 8:48:29 PM
No they have already been renewed. They have said 300 is the goal.
9/14/2016 9:13:49 PM
Just finished up Season 8, and I have a question. Is this still considered spoilers? I'm assuming everyone else is ahead of me.Why in the world didn't Sam go through with the trial to close the gates of hell? Why all of a sudden was death the worst thing that could happen to them? At this point Sam has died twice I think, Dean has died/been in the afterlife several times...this was your chance. Sure Sam dies, but you don't think that Cass/Heaven/Someone would throw you a bone and revive him? I'm guessing he wouldn't go to hell, so he could easily be sent back. Or even if death was permanent, you are shutting. the. gates. of. hell. Oh well. However, I do love how aware this show has gotten. You were right, it basically turns into fan service. Little nods to being in a show, the nerdy jokes with Felicia Day, cousin IT taking the bullet out of her mouth...I'm almost expecting something to happen and one of them to glance at the camera with a dumb look on their face. I really enjoy it.
10/17/2016 11:17:19 AM
If I remember right, Dean was told if Sam finishes the trial it would be no-coming-back. He couldn't let that happen, so he stopped Sam from finishing. You're right though, it was pretty selfish of Dean not to let the gates be closed, but the show needed them to both continue being alive. The end of season 11 has a similar almost-sacrifice that turns out to be a complete non-starter.
10/17/2016 6:19:07 PM
Pretty strong start to S12, if you ask me.
10/18/2016 8:07:04 AM
Only seen the first episode and I enjoyed it for the most part, but Sam's interactions with the British women felt a bit out of place though. It's their fault for pulling the gun but they really didn't have to do it. Then the torture scene and neither willing to have a conversation with the other. It's a forced antagonist that doesn't really seem that bad.Loved the Mary Winchester moments.
