96 Accord, not my car. 140k. Woman driver.Says there is hesitation when accelerating at highway speed.I think it could be an old distributor (of course mine has never been replaced and it runs great).Could need a tune up plug wires not attached properlyoil in the plug wellsdirty injectors?I haven't checked the car, ever, I just wanted to tell her what to ask her mechanic to look at.

Tell the mechanic? Who is she to tell the mechanic anything? She should tell the mechanic that there's hesitation, and he'll figure it out.Why should we waste our time when you're not even doing the work?

if it were plugs and wires, there's a good chance it would throw a misfire code

is she hot? if so, i diagnose the problem to be a faulty husband. replace immediately with a BBR. or, you could just tell the damn engine to quit drinking, watch where it's going, and it might not stumble so much.[Edited on October 1, 2008 at 6:05 PM. Reason : HAR HAR HAR]

I've learned by getting burned that the distributers in Hondas like to crap out at 160k miles.Happened to me twice in one year on two civics. Both times was the ignition coil. PITA because it nets you with no spark so you're stranded. One misfired for a few weeks before it finally failed so maybe I should have cared. The other ran find, parked it, and it never started again.
