I am trying to hook up my Dell to my television. Everything is working fine with the exception of the lack of color. Everything is in black and white. I tried looking online, but i think my video card is older than the ones on the online forums. Any suggestions? Also, since the tv is an older model, there is no s-video input, so i am using a converter to take the s-video to composite.

Get a newer TV and a videocard with either DVI and/or HDMI output.

is the tv b&w?

^^^no, i am too poor for a new tv or video card. The PC is going to be used only for playing videos and nothing else. ^No, everything else (DVD, N64, VCR) plays in excellent color. Isnt there a way to turn the output on the PC from S-video to composite. This might fix my problem.

also, the s-video works fine on our tv upstairs which has an s-video input, but we want it to work downstairs.

I was kidding. The only output from the computer is s-video? The converter might be bad. I think a missing pin or something might cause the lack of color if it's analog. I don't know though. ^that sounds like a bad converter then.
