My friend burned me a lot of games. My favorites are Capcom vs. SNK, MvC2, and Fire Pro Wrestling D. Great stuff.

If you like RPGs skies of Arcadia was good. But that was later ported anyway, same with code veronica. If you've got the fighting games already that's a lot of the best the system has to offer.

DOWNLOAD GAMES AND BURN THEM ONTO REGULAR CDS. I HAD EVERY SINGLE DREAMCAST AT ONE POINT GAME (OKAY MAYBE NOT ALL THE JAPANESE ONES). AND RIVAL SCHOOLS PROJECT JUSTICE IS BALLER AS HELL. IF YOU'VE GOT 4 PPL AT YOUR PLACE GET POWER STONE TWO TOO.I'm walls1441 and i approved this message.

I will never forget that music from the character selection screen on Marvel vs. Capcom 2... GONNA TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE
9/28/2008 1:15:45 PM
People actually figured out how to rip your own music into that game while burning a cd. Pretty funny that it drove them to that point.
9/28/2008 2:33:34 PM
^^ We used to play that all the time. And that music always seemed to be playing.[Edited on September 28, 2008 at 2:53 PM. Reason : Capt. America, Capt. Commando, and Ken, Cable, or Juggarnaut]
9/28/2008 2:50:55 PM
^^^haha yea they could have left that music out. anybody know about the connection thing? i've heard most of the games can/will run in 480p with the vga adapter but id' have to find a way to go vga to component . my reciever upconverts from composite to 480p but it's crap.

What version of DiscJuggler works for, erhm, backing up your games? I've got 6.0 and the discs can't seem to be read.
9/28/2008 8:03:26 PM
haha, Iceman and Spider-Man were great to button mash with.It was also really funny to just use Wolverine's beserker barage over and over again and piss the hell out of the opponent.[Edited on September 29, 2008 at 11:14 AM. Reason : ]

Shenmu was so tight. I'm not sure why, but it was sweet to have to get a job in video game I was playing so that I could have money to figure the story out. The job at the docks is pretty fun too, IMO.Dreamcast got a lot of shit, but I really enjoyed that system.
9/29/2008 12:59:52 PM
I'll tell you why it flopped.Because the wire from the controller came out the bottom rather than the top.Seriously, what were they thinking?
9/29/2008 1:07:12 PM
I think it was trying to build a rudimentary gameboy into the memory card that fucked them...i remember playing sonic adventure and then trying to do some digital pet bullshit with the thing on the memory card and wanting to fling the thing across the room.

I remeber getting Chu Chu Rocket and Crazy Taxi for my birthday. Both were great. Jet Set Radio, Skies of Arcadia, Shenmue (Please come back and finish the story Yu. You left us with a crazy cliffhanger at the end of Shenmue 2.), and Code Veronica were some other good ones. Dreamcast was definitely underrated during its time.
9/29/2008 8:57:58 PM
So if the games were so good, why didn't it survive? I still don't understand why it didn't take off.
9/30/2008 9:28:00 AM
You know, I wouldn't normally say piracy has out and out killed something, but I think in the case of the Dreamcast, it might have played a role. The ability to steal games was retardedly easy. I honestly don't know anyone that had a DC that wasn't pirating games. that and the PS2 are the reasons it died in my opinion. That being said, the DC was better than the PS2 imho. Check Samba De Amigo if you want to play a fun game.
9/30/2008 11:16:00 AM
I never had a Dreamcast, but could you just burn CD-R's for it like you would a regular music CD?Back then though, the internet was really slow so it would take ages to download an .iso file. I guess you could easily just rent a game from Blockbuster and copy it though.
9/30/2008 11:36:20 AM
I never burned games, and didn't know you could do it.
9/30/2008 12:31:29 PM
i burned an snes emulator disc for itwas too choppy for my likes

i used to have a bunch of games for mine until i sold it last year, but all i can remember is resident evil: code veronica, jet grind radio, soul calibur, and sonic adventure 1 and 2. code veronica was my favorite game for it, but i never beat it because i used up all the health items before the final boss.
9/30/2008 1:00:35 PM
Sonic Adventure 1 was really good, 2 was alright.
9/30/2008 1:49:51 PM
