http://www.wsoctv.com/video/17552023/index.htmlThe situation is getting really bad around Charlotte, hopefully we wont be hit by this problem.

The more news reporting there is about this, the more likely it is that we will.
9/25/2008 1:26:51 PM
it was happening a lot around Atlanta the other day too
9/25/2008 1:31:50 PM
Around here, there are a lot of places out of midgrade and premium.
9/25/2008 1:32:14 PM
Greenville, sc and asheville, nc have had this problem. Was in a pickle trying to get gas after work on tuesday and get up to asheville in time to see mars volta because I knew there was pretty much no gas once I got close to asheville. And then when I went to get gas in greenville I went to several places before I found a pump that had any :/

A lot of stations in Greensboro were out of gas a few days ago
9/25/2008 2:00:36 PM
gas shortages/high gas prices are a self-fulfilling prophecy
9/25/2008 2:59:36 PM
9/25/2008 3:02:15 PM
There is a bit of a legitimate shortage in Charlotte and western nc. But, you are correct that the hysteria isn't helping.
9/25/2008 3:04:21 PM
Here in Asheville we've been dealing with this for 2 weeks and counting. All of the stations are completely out of gas. When the gas truck rolls into town, people literally follow them to whichever station they are headed to, and wait in line for HOURS to fill up their tank. So in the rare case that a station actually gets gas, they run out in hours. It's awful. The latest news story says we'll be dealing with this well into October. If you happen to be traveling to WNC, make sure you come into town with at least a half tank of gas so you can get back out without running out of gas.
9/25/2008 3:12:59 PM
Sheetz is still out of gas. A couple of places round the city are as well.
9/25/2008 3:25:58 PM
The gas station attendant told me that that the eastern part of the state gets gas from up north. Western part gets gas from the gulf area, which is why only those stations have a low supply. I suppose Raleigh is somewhat divided?
9/25/2008 3:34:55 PM
I work in N. Raleigh and live in S. Raleigh. There's no gas shortage in either location.
9/25/2008 3:44:56 PM
The place I usually fill up at was out of 93 and 91 a couple days ago.
9/25/2008 3:49:02 PM
it's not as bad as nashville here but it's pretty bad in ATL - i can't find premium or midgrade anywhere - i put my first tank of 87 in my car a few days ago - luckily i only go through a tank of gas every 2-3 weeks typically
9/25/2008 3:49:33 PM
yeah i just went through charlotte, around the university area only one place had gas and it was backed up about a half a mile--I imagine they're out or close to it by now. There isn't a single line in asheboro.. I was out so I filled up..just glad I had enough to make it all the way back since I didn't have much other option
9/25/2008 4:10:54 PM
yep we was dumb down here
9/25/2008 4:11:22 PM
I guess im a part of the problem, as soon as someone told me about this, I ran out and got some gas.
9/25/2008 4:21:55 PM
9/25/2008 5:17:48 PM
do we really need this many threads on the topicit exacerbates the problem
9/25/2008 6:01:23 PM
I just sent the lady to go fill up. don't want to be out of gas.
9/25/2008 8:35:11 PM

9/25/2008 8:59:28 PM

9/25/2008 9:01:33 PM
the gas station near my house is totally out. they only get regular when they can get any.the other station hasn't run out though, but their prices are higher (which isn't cool). the quality might be better though.

Haven't seen too many issues in the Norfolk area. There was a station selling regular for 3.54, midgrade for 3.51, and premium for 3.55 yesterday. Today they only had regular listed.
9/26/2008 1:57:34 AM

9/26/2008 3:27:42 AM
So have any Raleigh stations near campus started to run out? I filled up at the beginning of the week and I haven't been out to check prices/shortages recently.
9/26/2008 3:51:31 AM
My sister told me today Boone is completely out of gas.
9/26/2008 4:12:01 AM
I liked the solution for "what if your gas station has no gas?" the news gave the other day. "Drive on to the next gas station". Really? You dont say?
9/26/2008 5:25:35 AM
i was only down a quarter of a tank last night, but to avoid running out of gas, i filled up anywaydisaster averted!

I went to the Kangaroo on Tryon/Gorman and all the pumps were out. Then went to the other one on the way to work on Tryon close to Walnut street and they had regular grade but no premium or midgrade. Which worked out fine with me. But the premium and midgrade buttons had stickers on them saying they were out which suggested that they have been out for awhile. But also read on NBC17.com that shipments of gas are coming in.http://wake.mync.com/site/wake/news%7CSports%7CLifestyles/story/9802/oil-companies-to-the-rescue

SERIOUS QUESTIONhow's the diesel situation in raleigh?
9/26/2008 9:36:53 AM
I went to fill up at a BP station in Fuquay yesterday morning and they were out of Regular and Mid-grade
9/26/2008 10:13:21 AM
Man, this drive down to Charlotte this wknd is sounding like less and less of a good idea!
9/26/2008 10:25:10 AM
diesel is fine everywhere.... including charlotte which is in baaaad shape w/ gas
9/26/2008 10:29:51 AM
anybody have a 10 gallon tank I can borrow this wknd?
9/26/2008 11:41:57 AM
teg we're supposed to get filled up tonight... you should be ok.
9/26/2008 11:49:05 AM
Here in Charlotte I find all this kind of funny.I have half a tank and I am not/should not be panicking. If you go in these lines I guarantee that most of them have plenty of gas to last them at least a week of back and forth from work.

i didn't get gas until my light came on. i don't feel the need to waste money.
9/26/2008 12:40:06 PM
isn't that bad for your fuel pump?
9/26/2008 1:30:42 PM
