my router toasted out a while back and I replaced it, however my xbox 360 will no longer connect to XBOX live at all. Not through the router nor will it connect plugged directly into modem.-Ethernet cable works just fine-I've tried to manually enter settings and it wont work eitherIs there a way to completely reset the 360? I've tried looking on line and following microsoft's troubleshooter still no success. Any thoughts?

Just out of curiosity, have you tried resetting the modem after you plug the 360 directly into it? When you switch devices that a cable modem is plugged into like that, you always have to reset it.

'haha...I'm really just wondering how many xbox360's microsoft can throw back at everyone who's had a problem with them...don't get me wrong, it's an amazing gaming system and I'm not trying to jump into a console war or anything, but it seems like "microsoft is sending me a new one" is a phrase I hear way too much...I wonder if they're counting that as "another console sold" to pad their sales of units...lol[Edited on September 25, 2008 at 7:28 PM. Reason : not really, but it's a thought]

The "a new one" is really one of the broken ones they took back that's been refurbished.

I'm also having connectivity problems with mine. I guess it's more general than that though; it's everyone's favorite RROD.
