Hopefully we can get a running list here which updates everyone on each player who's injured, and the amount of time they're supposed to be out for. Who wants to start it?

lets try to keep it standard

NAME - POSITION - INJURY - HOW LONG

or just have two sections, one for players out for season, and one for players that may return this season. maybe put offensive people on top of each section, and defensive people underneath them. or have two sections (offense and defense) then 2 subsections for each, whatever) then people can just report the entire list when adding/removing players.

I imagine the reason we want this list is so we can feel sorry for ourselves and have a reason we lost and will lose games.

Players who miss games in the middle of the season and come back to play were at one point injured players, and their absence sucked while it happened. At the end of the season, we'll be able to say "we had a total of 19 players miss a total of 159 games this season, that's why we sucked, and that's why we'll be better next year."

So maybe they can fall in their own category.

NC State coach Tom O'Brien just told me Harrison Beck is still listed as the starting quarterback heading into this week's game against Boston College. He didn't give an update on how injured starter Russell Wilson is doing. More on this later, still on the teleconference ...

Quote :
"Injuries have been a problem all-season long for the N.C. State Wolfpack. Though the team lost its second conference game against Boston College this past Saturday, it made it through the entire game without losing a first string player to injury. The Wolfpack haven't been able to do that yet this season.

The injury report has been somewhat of an enemy of head coach Tom O'Brien with all the names he's had to put on it due to a new ACC injury policy put in place for this year. Recently Russell Wilson's injury following the East Carolina game has come into question. The Wolfpack never officially disclosed what body part Wilson hurt.

Coach O'Brien joined 99.9 FM The Fan and he was asked why the team has disclosed injury information for a defensive players like Nate Irving and Alan Michael Cash and not for Russell Wilson

"Well I've done exactly what the injury policy has said," O'Brien said. "I'm a little reluctant to disclose a quarterback injury because I think people, and I'm not going to accuse anybody of anything, can take shots at a quarterback especially if they know what his injury is."

The new injury policy in the ACC says nothing about disclosing types of injuries. It does require the school to announce players who are out for the season or scheduled to have surgery. It also requires teams to announce later in the week a player's status by using one of five categories: definitely will play, probable, questionable, doubtful, or out.

However the Wolfpack's injury report has given injury types even for players not out for the season or scheduled for surgery. Tight end Anthony Hill was listed as probable heading into the Boston College game with "pectoralis strain" and guard Curtis Crouch was listed as out with a foot injury. Russell Wilson was listed as full with no injury type by his name. He was the only player out of the 11 on the injury report not to have a body part and injury type next to his name.

"I think that quarterbacks are different, we protect their heads but we don't protect their ankles, their knees, their hips, their arms, their elbows, their shoulders or whatever," O'Brien said. "I haven't hid anything I've done exactly what the injury policy has said but certainly I always protect my quarterback."

The high number of injuries to starters has allowed for many young players to step in and play. O'Brien mentioned players like George Bryan and Justin Byers as a couple who have done well, though he said it's not the way he wants it.

"They're doing great jobs for us but they still shouldn't be playing at this stage of their careers."

Tom O'Brien evaluated his football team after the six week period as one that is looking more like the football team. He also noted that with team playing smarter and harder they will be even a better football team when they have more players suiting up."

So, in an interivew on scout.com, J.C. Neal said:

On the health of the defense
“From what I heard I think everybody is coming back. So I think the time off gave us a little time to get the bruises out, all the little hurts and bumps everybody got.”

Does that mean that we're getting Irving/AMC back or does that just mean that no one additional got hurt?

I had through AMC was out for the season earlier, but i ran into Jake Vermiglio's parents randomly at a gas station after the BC game, and they told me that AMC would be back.

which pretty much has to happen if we have any shot of saving this season.

So with nearly all of our big names and starters playing, how are we looking against Florida State? I have high hopes...The teams FSU has beaten have a record of 4-1 (opponents combined to 13/18), including their only loss to 18 ranked Wake Forest.

They're a huge rushing team, with 1192 rushing yards vs 964 passing yards. How are we against the rush? Our secondary has been lacking (most notably this last game ) but I seem to remember our rush defense has been decent. Especially with Irving in for rushes up the middle, we could put a stop to their rush plays. Think so?

not really, as a lot of the rushing yards also come from the QB position

which we've never defended particularly well

The latest depth chart was released last Friday. On it were the names of the people who would play if the game was to be played then and there. As of last Friday, AMC wouldn't have played. Six more days of recovery and who knows... But the depth chart released last week was not speculating about who might be healthy in time for the game.
