well i got another sk00ter yesterday. 50cc.

the guy i got it from said the starter, magneto, coils.... have been replaced. and the Carb either was replaced or cleaned, i dont remember what he said.

so its got spark (pulled plug and tested it) , fuel (took line from carb and saw fuel coming out) and turns over. the guy said something about pressure. he's foreign so i really didnt know what he was talking about. i thought he meant no compression. well its got good compression from what i can tell (sticking my finger over spark plug hole). dont have a tester that small.

so what should i try? was told to try to swap carbs and see if carb could be bad.

it shows no indication of even attempting to start when hitting ignition. just constant spinning over.

squirt some starting fluid in the carb and kick it over a few times.

^did that too. didnt work.

but i did get it running. there is a plastic cover on the carb. it was cracked. i glued it and put it back on, then it started. im guessing it was leaking/sucking in air when it was broken.

but it runs, just doesnt run well or even drive. gotta give it gas to keep it running, and it runs like crap. def. need to work ont he carbs or something. there is a line that is blocked off. not sure why. gotta read over the service manual to find wha it is. its under the carb. on my other scooter it leads to some sort of adjustment assembly down near the trans. casing.

this was broken

hmmm

there is a hose coming off the nipple to the right side, you can just see the headin this pic.

that is the one that leads to a block off of some sort. the other scoot has an adjustment.

ok edit...

that nipple i pointed out is actually for the fuel line, has the filter on it and all. (well this one doesnt, i guess they took the filter off).. but the nipple below it, you cant see it in the picture. that is some sort of adjustment fule line thingy that is missing from this scoot scoot.

it actually runs and drives if i take the blockage off, but it'll pour out gas... so i need to find out what that adjuster thingy is called.

The adjustments are set at factory then capped off so people don't fuck the settings up. That carb is vacuum operated so any crack in that top piece will cause a leak, there is a vacuum operated fuel valve also. They also have an electric choke that can be actin up. Its always a carb issue on the fucking things. I could write a book on that chinese shit
