Amazing Acres Farm was created specifically to provide uniquehands-on opportunities that encourage kids to “Get Outside And Learn!”Programs:• At the farm – we offer day camps, field trips, and festivals• Away from the farm – we take the farm to schools, daycares, nursing homes, and festivals.Children are taught through hands-on experiences created by Kathleen Kesselring that focus oncurriculum objectives from the NC Dept of Education’s Standard Course of Study. The lessonshighlight good character and inspire a connection to nature.Amazing Acres Farm• Animals have all been raised as pets and are very friendly companion animals who love to beheld and touched• Most are rescued animals• Home to pot-bellied pigs, pygmy goats, an alpine goat, ducks, chickens, rabbits, heritageturkeys, quail, turtles, and a small, organic vegetable gardenAmazing Acres Farm• Applying for non-profit status since our primary GOAL is to teach people to appreciateanimals, farming, and nature• We are USDA licensed – laws about animal care, human-animal interactions• Members of the Agritourism Networking Association, National Pygmy Goat Association,Carolina Farm Stewardship Association, Pig Pals of North CarolinaMAKE A DIFFERENCE:We help students of all ages develop the capacity for self-reflection andindependent and collaborative learning.
