what's the thinnest thats feasible without compromising structural integrity? I know that the standard is 16 gauge, but I'm curious what others have used. I do plan to paint it to prevent corrosion.

you talking muffler case or the tubing itself? for a muffler, expect some resonance unless you plan on making some sort of one-off glasspack

if tubing, do you plan on bending it yourself?

tubing. im making an exhaust pipe (no cat or resonator, slightly bigger than stock and mandel-bent pieces) with a muffler from another car. my current stock one is falling apart. i'd like it quieter without a stupid fart can.

weight difference would be marginal at best with different walled tubing, in all honestly. Save the money and hassle for searching by getting easily obtained components and save weight with a smaller cased muffler (and no cat/resonator).

they have like 3-4 ft lengths of the bendible tubing you can get.

ive always wanted to get it and put like 20ft together and just bend it in and out of the car.
