Looks like it is puking milkshake from a small clear breather tube from the crankcase near the starter? does that make any sense?

Did you buy it from him or work out a trade for that Quad Racer or something?

No, we were going to trade until I saw that. The crank oil looks fine from the dipstick, but my concern is that there is water in there and maybe the oil is floating on top of it. I'm going to drain it today and take a look.

Tough to say, after firing it up and letting it run maybe 20 seconds it starts to drip slowly.

Could just be condensation. I always thought the vents were one way deals. Perhaps the vent needs to be replaced. Or stop driving it through the creek in your back yard.

The last time I rode it we didn't run through any water. I'm actually wondering if water made it down the tailpipe when I washed it and leaked past the rings into the crank. The bad thing is that I think February was the last time I rode it, so whatever is in there has been there for a while.

^^^^ haha, i used my old Fourtrax 200 as a submarine...pretty routinely had it underwater except the gas tank and handlebars, and don't remember ever having a problem as a result. no milkshake or anything.

Nah...I figured it out when I put it on ramps tonight and looked underneath. It is water in the casing where the pull starter and electric starter meet the flywheel.

Here is a link with pics:

Yeah man. I was worried about those crank bearings being shot if water was sitting in the crank, but it doesn't look like that's the case. You can see it all the next time we get together, but it looks pretty straightforward to me. I'll leave the skid plate off for now.

Yeah...The worst thing you can do is let something sit.
I drained the gas and blew out the carbs last night. Put some fresh fuel in and it is running fine now. Trash in the tank I guess.
