MSNBC drops Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews from anchor chair... David Gregory will anchor news coverage of the coming debates and election night.... Developing...

Hi let's drop our two most popular anchors. That's smart.
9/7/2008 10:16:29 PM
they're in time out after their little outburst at the Dem Convention
9/7/2008 10:20:16 PM
HAHAHAthis is great.....those two are such hacks...
9/7/2008 10:24:45 PM
they both suck
9/7/2008 10:25:05 PM
Olbermann is too busy doing Sunday Night Football with Dan Patrick now so I am sure he won't mind getting dropped [/sarcasm]
9/7/2008 10:25:42 PM
olberman blows, matthews is meh...i applaud this decision
9/7/2008 10:29:43 PM
9/7/2008 10:40:00 PM
I thought Olbermann busted at the 9/11 thing at the RNC....
9/7/2008 10:56:15 PM
I like Chris Matthews. Keith Olbermann is the mother of all douchebags. Terrible, F.
9/7/2008 11:03:20 PM
Matthews was having too many tingles up his leg.

Excellent. The sooner that hacks like Olbermann and O'Reilly are formally ostracized from news reporting, the better. We've always had commentary from widely disparate viewpoints, but the polaraization of news reporting is a recent and disturbing trend in journalism. It's one of the main reasons that 2 groups of people can hear about the same event and come up with such different conclusions.
9/8/2008 2:12:31 AM
I used to kind of like Olbermann's show a few years ago. Now he's just way too full of himself.
9/8/2008 5:12:48 AM
I watched the conventions (parts of them) on PBS. What did Olbermann and Matthews do?
9/8/2008 6:20:54 AM
My problem with it was that MSNBC presents those guys like they are "unbiased news casters". When Olbermann does his thing on The Countdown, I still think he is an idiot, but, hey...its his show...he can give an opinion about anything he wants. Foxnews knows that O'reilly is hack so they dont let him be a news anchor, which is appropriate. They are hacks and should be portrayed as and treated as such.

Everything that Olbermann said during the RNC was true.Besides, Sean Hannity et. al. did commentary for both the RNC and DNC, and you don't hear anyone calling for their heads. I guess they're expected to show bias, though.[Edited on September 8, 2008 at 8:39 AM. Reason : ]

yeah, there is a big difference.hannity is also way less of a douche than olbermann. i disagree with both of them more often than not, but i can't even watch or listen to olbermann...he just grates on my nerves.
9/8/2008 9:28:49 AM
they are all pretty shitty
9/8/2008 10:57:02 AM
Chris Matthews is awesome

9/8/2008 2:19:35 PM
Jesus, God, why don't you get a shovel?
9/8/2008 2:25:14 PM
Olbermann hasn't been shit since he left Sportscentergood job, MSDNC
9/8/2008 2:26:37 PM
I find it funny that MSNBC is so quick to claim it isn't biased when Fox News doesn't even care anymore.
9/8/2008 2:44:26 PM
Olbermann shouldnt have left sports

Good to see that when the GOP whines about biased coverage and literally threatens to drop out of the NBC moderated debate that the networky capitulates.....where as you've got Obama willing to go on Fox News and get trashed but do you hear him bitching? Nope. Double standard. Now, keep in mind that Olbermann definitely kicks like a donkey, pretty hard actually. More than I like in fact as it would surprise many of you to hear me say. But god man, no more than the wingnuts over on Fox and how ridiculously biased to the right they are. Hannity, O Reilly, Hume, Carlson? So many I can't count straight.Just goes to show you which party knows how to game AND whine more.

I like hannity, but come on....Colmes is like a dormat on that show.
9/8/2008 8:36:50 PM
lol, okay I'll take your word on Colmes, I don't watch that crap so I have no idea. But it's irrelevant since neither of them anchor/host political events.
9/8/2008 8:48:57 PM
Obama is on Olbermann right now.Even though Olbermann is a total ass, Obama comes off really well. Sometimes, I really hate that I can't vote for him. But I really really do believe his policies would be a disaster. I think his health care policies would lead to a collapse of the private insurance market, raising the corporate income taxes will hurt US businesses and workers, nuclear power is not bad, etc etc etc. Besides, I really like McCain as a person too. He's a hard fighting SOB that may not make a good speech, but could make a damn good President.

Is this the video in question? It appears to be either the Republican Convention or an episode of Countdown.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dm-9MbC3IdU
9/9/2008 2:06:50 AM
^^ Yeah. Seriously.I mean, Hannity's a douche, too, but Olbermann is on a whole different level. Olbermann is as big of a douche as Rush Limbaugh...Sean Hannity is definitely not that bad.[Edited on September 9, 2008 at 2:24 AM. Reason : asdfasd]

Did anyone see the SNL sketch with Affleck as Olbermann? I thought it was absolutely hilarious.
11/3/2008 1:24:11 PM
i thought it would never end
11/3/2008 1:50:05 PM
I keep wathcing it over and over againFunniest thing Affleck has ever done.http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/countdown-with-keith-olbermann/805561/[Edited on November 3, 2008 at 2:26 PM. Reason : ]

^^haha, that was pretty good
11/3/2008 2:13:45 PM
yeah, but we just need the damn giraffe skit.
11/3/2008 2:16:01 PM
^^^ yep.
11/3/2008 2:17:28 PM
I acutally didn't think it was funny, and I DO think he should be parodied...so it's not because I don't think there's potential in the subject.I just think Affleck overacts (what's new) and is a huge douche. Also, Olbermann doesn't speak in like Shakespearean high tone like that so it's not believable. Definitely a terrible impression.
11/3/2008 3:57:38 PM
Olbermann does speak like that in some of his rants - I watch countdown at work every day. I think it was great.
11/3/2008 3:58:49 PM
I'm a pretty big Olbermann fan and I had to cut that crap off after like 2 minutes. That was terrible.
