cant wait to watch this
9/3/2008 11:11:28 AM
Hmmm, I thought he'd already done this. Must've been a different Fox News show. I think Hillary's been on O'Reilly recently.
9/3/2008 11:17:49 AM
I can't remember the last time I watched anything Bill O'reily related, except for his breakdown on Inside Edition.
9/3/2008 11:17:55 AM
As far as I know, Obama has never been on any Fox News affiliated show. I don't even think John Kerry was on there.
9/3/2008 1:35:18 PM
FUCK IT. WE'LL DO IT LIVE!!!!111oneone
9/3/2008 1:36:41 PM
i be o'reilly does the same shit he did when he interviewed clinton[Edited on September 3, 2008 at 1:36 PM. Reason : ie. sucky interview]
9/3/2008 1:36:46 PM
holy crap.so the Palin thing really did jack up his master plan.why else does he feel the need to watch the #1 watched show on cable news networks. cant wait to watch this
9/3/2008 1:46:29 PM
This only has the potential to go really well for Obama or really badly.O'Reilly is a douchebag but he can be clever, and Obama needs to prepare well. Also, it's clear he's doing this to steal some attention from the McCain speech. The Palin situation can only work out well for Obama.[Edited on September 3, 2008 at 1:48 PM. 9/3/2008 1:48:06 PM
Obama's daughter must be pregnant.Moron, this will only go well for obama. Oreilly is such a pussy when the actual interview takes place. He talks up a game, then defends the softballs he throws during the game. Dont sweat it. Obama will do great on it.[Edited on September 3, 2008 at 1:56 PM. Reason : .]
9/3/2008 1:55:04 PM
Dangerous move, but if anyone can handle it, Obama can.
9/3/2008 1:57:19 PM
as long as he can keep the "uh"s in check. First lesson of public speaking: If you're formulating answers don't say "uh" just be silent until the words come to you.
9/3/2008 2:23:25 PM
If they are negociating an appearance, im sure barry will have the questions before he goes on. So dont worry about the wizard of uhs making an appearance.
9/3/2008 2:30:26 PM
9/3/2008 2:35:05 PM
I think going on o'reilly helped hillary. it will probably also help obama.
9/3/2008 2:39:26 PM
What time Thursday night will this be?
9/3/2008 2:41:23 PM
i hope bill tears his ass up and makes him answer tough questions
9/3/2008 3:29:51 PM
^^ 8 pm
9/3/2008 3:38:21 PM
As long as he asks questions of this caliber :"What is your favorite color, and why?""Do you like or dislike global warming?""What is a president supposed to do?"...that'll easily make the hardest questions he's had to answer to date.I like when Obama yesterday said, "well, she had a 12 million dollar budget a month to work with up in alaska, and i have 2 times that every week in our campaign budget."oops, i guess he forgot she was also a governor with an 11 billion dollar budget. i hope he gets into those kind of comparisons...either way, obama knows he has to do this and if he fails, he's sunk.
9/3/2008 3:43:42 PM
i wonder how many questions he answers "thats above my pay grade"
9/3/2008 3:51:44 PM
I'd love to see O'Reilly get into it with Obama the way he did with Geraldo. Not that it would be in any way productive or help anyone at all, but it would make for very entertaining television.
9/3/2008 6:43:34 PM
9/3/2008 6:55:50 PM
first NFL game of the seasonor The O'Reilly Factorhmmmm...thats a tough one...............
9/4/2008 10:49:35 AM
lol @ Bill O'Reilly or any other talking head being taken as "serious" news..
9/4/2008 10:53:37 AM
i'm not sure anyone suggested thathe does, however, for better or for worse, hold significant sway over a sizable number of right-wingers. An appearance by Obama on his show will either calm his viewers down a bit if they see he doesn't have some kind of evil masterplan to destroy America, or (probably more likely), just shore up their hatred of him.
9/4/2008 11:09:55 AM
9/4/2008 11:13:35 AM
I'm sorry, answering that question is above my pay grade.
9/4/2008 11:45:05 AM
Obama will admit on the show tonite that the Surge in Iraq was a huge success.
9/4/2008 6:29:16 PM
WOOOO they just showed obama, he looked good. Part 1??? I want it all!
9/4/2008 8:01:34 PM
i hate Obama so much,
9/4/2008 8:12:47 PM
definitely didnt hurt him. Actually, hearing him talk about it all made me feel better than I did about the foreign policy side of things if he is elected
9/4/2008 8:48:50 PM
I liked the interview. I though O'Reily had some great questions and I thought Obama answered them well. What I didn't like was that they decided to break the interview up and air it over 4 nights.

9/5/2008 1:33:45 AM
This was the biggest surprise for meO'Reilly "I think history will show Iraq was the wrong battlefield. And I think you were perspicacious in your original assessment of the battlefield."I don't watch O'Reilly, so I don't know if he's said this before, or if this is his opinion now?7 minutes? that's it? there's no reason to break that interview up except to draw more rating next week[Edited on September 5, 2008 at 7:10 AM. O'reilly showed remarkable restraint. Admittedly, i've only watched a few episodes of his show, but typically he plays the "whoever argues loudest is right" game.
9/5/2008 9:07:06 AM
If you were reading a transcript it doesn't seem that bad, but O'Reilly's tone was very negative and dismissive. I don't see this helping out Obama that much. And the weird camera angle makes it look like O Reilly is looking down on OBama, which makes him look weak.[Edited on September 5, 2008 at 9:16 AM. Reason : ]

I don't know who the left-wing version of O'Reilly would be (I guess Colbert comes the closest, ironically), but here's a McCain interview: http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/09/04/delusional-john-mccain-peddles-alaska-is-close-to-russia-nonsense/The tone of the interviewer is no where near negative as O'Reilly. even on the "tough" questions, side by side, just because of the tone, McCain comes off looking better relatively. It's no wonder that no democrat likes to go on Fox News, their obvious inherent bias is hard to fight.
9/5/2008 9:33:17 AM
Just watched it, Bill is a prick. But it worked. Why don't you just say it.Waste of carbon. Let's not actually discuss issues, let's just try to one up everyone that comes on my show.I don't watch his show because I can't stand the lame yelling and dickish attitude, but does Bill O'Reilly ever actually have positions on anything, or does he just do what tdub does and point fingers and yell gotcha every other post?[Edited on September 5, 2008 at 9:39 AM. The ground war is over and has been over for quite some. Here is the obvious tone to the question and true response he(oreilly) was wanting to hear from him:Oreilly didn't want to ONE-UP anybody. He didn't care about making Obama look bad, he(obama) does that constantly anyways with douchebaggery in other areas.Oreilly just wants to hear our future commander in chief not only BASH our troops constantly but perhaps give them credit on a MASSIVE MILITARY URBAN WAR VICTORY AND SAY GG GUYS!!!THATS IT!!! He(obama) barely hinted at the fact that it's working. But no. He(obama) had to play the "I'm God" card and not admit to any flaws once again.[Edited on September 5, 2008 at 10:21 AM. Reason : .]

how insightful^lava? it can't feel as bad as it does to lose 7 of the past 10 presidential elections.

Rofl, I'm not even old enough to have been around for all of those you mongoloid.
9/5/2008 10:41:55 AM
Republicans that cannot seperate supporting the troops with not supporting an inept administration are as dumb as they seem.
9/5/2008 10:44:22 AM
oreilly was not AS negative and dismissive as he could have been. i mean that is the point...that is oreilly. and if you've watched before, you know he's pretty good at ripping people apart. i didn't think it was that bad. i was scared to watch at first but i think barack definitely definitely handled himself well. i'm interested to see the rest for sure. i didn't even really see him being that dismissive. its journalism. he is pretty good at what he does as much as i disagree with him on....well pretty much everything. but i thought obama did pretty well and i can't wait to see the rest!^agreed[Edited on September 5, 2008 at 10:56 AM.
