So, my TWC Box is not working. The power light is green, the cable goes from the wall into the box and another cable goes from the box to the TV. The TV is set to 'TV', which is the cable input. The box displays the correct time. You know, all the normal stuff. However, the TV says "No Signal". I've unplugged and plugged back in the box, it did this little skit with '----' and came back online within a few moments.I'm fairly sure its the box, because the other inputs work. It might be a cable, but I can't remove anything from the TV or box to test out other cables.Thoughts?

I'm sure there isn't a number you could call for thisyou know, one for TIME WARNER TECHNICAL SUPPORT

I was hoping to avoid calling them.Don't they have an unlisted number that isn't always busy?

Press and hold the power button till it reboots. If that doesn't work unplug the power cord to the box for 20-30 mins. These are the first two things the tech support person will ask you to do.G/L[Edited on August 30, 2008 at 9:00 PM. Reason : TWC cust serv 919-595-4892]

Hope it works out for ya. I have to reset/unplug mine 2-3 times a month.

unlisted tech support? it's on your bill dude.
8/30/2008 9:39:38 PM
we don't get paper bills anymore and its in another roommate's name. i've heard of people on here talking about how they call the listed number (on the bill or w/e) and it only gives busy signals 24/7...and then calling another number someone found online and getting right through.

i call pretty regularly and have only gotten a busy signal once.might be good to write the number down on a sticky note.

I AM HIJACKING THIS THREAD.This weekend I was visiting a friend in Wilmington and he had his old TWC cable box from before he moved. They have Cox cable so it won't work at his house so he gave it to me. I hook it up, it downloads the new firmware, and reboots. But now it says, not surprisingly, "this cable box is not authorized for service." I did some Googling about whether or not they would let me add the box without charging me but got mixed answers. Before I call them and wait on hold for an hour, has anyone else been successful getting TWC to add a non-rented box?
9/1/2008 9:38:52 PM
Does the box actually belong to your friend, or is it just a rental he failed to return?
9/1/2008 9:44:44 PM
most likely the latter
9/1/2008 10:13:03 PM
I wouldn't even bother with it then. TWC is just going to ask for their box back.
9/1/2008 10:26:47 PM
yeah that's what i'm afraid of. oh well... it's not an HD box anyway.
