party politics are retarded/thread
8/29/2008 10:39:51 AM
Palin is AWESOME. Great choice.
8/29/2008 10:45:53 AM
the "I voted for hillary because she's a woman" voters gotta have someone to vote for now that she's out. They're out there.
8/29/2008 10:48:10 AM
ok can we go ahead and combine the 8 threads into one now?
8/29/2008 10:49:42 AM
^thats what my goal was kindai dont think she is a good choice at all but thats me
8/29/2008 10:51:00 AM
Biden will rip her apart in the VP debates, I know that. She adds no help to McCain on economy issues whatsoever.Pretty transparent parroting out there a woman for the Hillary voters...hope they don't fall for it. At least she's hot.
8/29/2008 10:51:16 AM
This definitely sets her up for a future presidential run, whether McCain or Obama win this year.Palin/Jindal ticket in a few years?
8/29/2008 10:52:13 AM
^^if biden "rips her apart" the repubs will definitely use that in their favor[Edited on August 29, 2008 at 10:52 AM. Reason : .]
8/29/2008 10:52:29 AM
FTR, it should have been Obama-Biden and McCain-Palin. Hyphens FTW.Some of you are such fucking hypocrites. You always rag on McCain for being old, but you're not mentioning Biden's age at all. And if youth is an advantage for Obama, why isn't it for Palin? [Edited on August 29, 2008 at 10:56 AM. Reason : .]

Biden will make her cry
8/29/2008 10:53:58 AM
8/29/2008 10:55:02 AM
They didn't parrot him out, if anything the establishment tried to decimate him (Read: Clinton). It's been a tough swallow even for the Dems.Remember he's half black, don't see what being black anyway has to do with shit. If you don't think picking a woman is a 'token' or 'symbolic' move on McCain's part...you are absolutely delusional. He kept saying he wanted a VP with 'credentials' and instantly ready to take over for obvious reasons...he's old and wants that out of a VP.She's had like a year of being a governor of Alaska of all places and that's it. That's it. Tell me how that got McCain from point A to point B now? POLITICS

You guys are riding the wave right now but trust me, this is a desperation pick and over the next months everyone will see why. I think it's a poor choice, I'm trying to objective^ i guess you didn't hear his speech yesterday. 29 policy points, all the detail to curb your argument yet you just blather shit. What's McCain proposing? Bombing Iran and Drilling America so in 10 years we pay 10 cents less at the pump? WONDERFUL POLICY![Edited on August 29, 2008 at 11:01 AM. Reason : -]
8/29/2008 11:00:03 AM
Right, because she is a woman Biden is gonna make her cry, tear her apart in the debates. Uh huh, have you ever seen her debate? I haven't, and I don't think many people have. And come on, Obama is portrayed as black. That may be unfair to his heritage, but that's how it is. There were plenty of people during the primaries who were yammering about how Obama would be the first black this and that. Don't tell me his race had no bearing on some of the support he has among the left, if you think thank then you are delusional. Hell, other than saying "Hope" and "Change" over and over and over again, he has established little firm policy.

^^^ LOL! Geraldine Ferraro--the only other woman vice-presidential nominee for a major party and a Democrat--just said on FOX News, and I'm paraphrasing, that the Palin pick will help McCain with disaffected Hillary voters who don't think she was treated fairly by Obama.OH WE BACK!!!1 [Edited on August 29, 2008 at 11:06 AM. I think that if he had gotten another older white guy on the ticket, it would play into the image that the GOP is a bunch of angry old white guys. It DOES soften the image of the ticket, despite Palin's hard-right stance on some social issues, and I think that is a positive for McCain.
8/29/2008 11:11:42 AM
this is probably why mccain kept doing the whole "hillary was rejected" thing after obama picked biden...he knew all along he'd pick a woman
8/29/2008 11:12:03 AM
^^^ Nose-holders for McCain! [Edited on August 29, 2008 at 11:12 AM. Reason : .]

8/29/2008 11:14:17 AM
The more I read and hear reaction from both Republicans and Democrats, the more I like the pick. It's obviously bothering Democrats for whatever reason and it's obviously firing up Republicans for whatever reasongreat analysis I know... that's just what it seems like to me^ whatever, they'll just spin it that she's taking the position to change the way a VP conducts business and actually be productive or something[Edited on August 29, 2008 at 11:17 AM. No it's got me staggered frankly because it is facially obvious this may be the biggest political pander in presidential history. If I were a woman, I'd be deeply offended.More importantly, this takes the experience issue off the table. Completely off the table. Which is perplexing because that's his central attack and theme against Obama? Weird.
8/29/2008 11:17:18 AM
^^^ Um. . .you do realize that Biden ran for president umpteen times, right? Vice president wasn't his first choice either, dumbass. [Edited on August 29, 2008 at 11:18 AM. Reason : .]
8/29/2008 11:17:52 AM
DESTROYS the experience arguement...totally, completely, destroys it....a former beauty queen VP? OMG! LOL It is over, President Obama....Obama's camp has to be VERY happy! He shoulda went for the Gov of LA if he wanted a youngin.[Edited on August 29, 2008 at 11:20 AM. Reason : w]
8/29/2008 11:18:14 AM
I don't know about completely off the table. An inexperienced president is probably a bigger issue to voters than an inexperienced vice president
8/29/2008 11:19:02 AM
8/29/2008 11:20:35 AM
^^^ It's "argument," dummyhead. And the most experienced should be the top of the ticket--which is the case with McCain-Palin, but not Obama-Biden. [Edited on August 29, 2008 at 11:21 AM. Reason : .]
8/29/2008 11:20:53 AM
Not when you are 72 and statistically a higher and higher risk of health problems whatever they may be. You best damn pick a VP at that age that can realistically take over. What's obvious about this is that this is NOT A SERIOUS PICK. No one in their right mind thinks she's the standard formula of a VP insurance policy. I really just don't get this. It's a wildcard, sure. But is it from courage or desperation?

She's a terrible example. A PUMA from San Francisco? Drastically different demographics.
8/29/2008 11:27:45 AM
I'd like to hope "real" hillary supporters will listen to what hillary says and vote for barack. any others who switch just because sarah palin is now the rep. VP were obviously shallow and moronic.
8/29/2008 11:31:23 AM
8/29/2008 11:31:32 AM
give me a break. I've heard plenty of blacks state that they are voting for Obama solely because he is black. Why is it that it is only the evil whites who will vote on the basis of race? You disgust me.
8/29/2008 11:33:11 AM
The more I read on Palin, the more I keep thinking WTF. She was governor for less than two years, and prior to that, she was the mayor of a town of 7,000 people in Alaska. I think this is a reflection of the true lack of depth in the Republican talent pipeline. My own opinion is that the current administration tainted or screwed over everyone who was being groomed for leadership, and this selection of someone who might have been a rising star is just plain sad.
