both are supposed to come next month

htc touch pro: http://www.htc.com/www/product.aspx?id=49518

after reading scathing reviews of the touch diamond: http://www.geardiary.com/2008/07/08/htc-diamond-review-part-3-the-verdict-is-in/ i'm not sure if i should get the touch pro - which is supposed to be the same thing, just with the slide out keyboard

or t-mobile's g1 phone: http://conceptpop.com/the-official-google-phone-is-here

i have a ppc-6700 right now so i'm due for an upgrade asap

I'll get the pro if the interface is as fast as the android phone. I got a buddy workin at google, maybe he can get me a discount on an android phone I wouldn't mind hacking one and turning it into a scanner/cloner

I'm holding out for the google phone. I've got to imagine that the user interface will be superior, despite how great that "touchflo" system is supposed to be.

Android will have an app system very similar to appstore, but without all the restrictions Apple has. Anybody will be able to upload an app, with a voting and review system in place to highlight the best software. With this in place the user interface will be a lot more customizeable than the HTC Touch, and there will be a lot more features as time goes on.

If you really want a Touch Pro I can buy you one when I'm in Germany in 2 weeks. Over there the phone is going for about 500 Euros.

Quote :
"From the looks of it, Sprint has gone and gotten a decent chunk of its playbook leaked all over the interblogs, and it's chock-full of titillating information. Thanks to slippery fingers and loose lips, we already knew that the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro were headed to the carrier, but now we have some solid dates (mid-September for the Diamond, October 19th for the Pro), and pricing ($549.99 and $579.99, respectively). Of course, this is all according to the above document, which admittedly could be the work of an extremely bored Photoshopper -- but this jibes pretty tightly with a lot of other chatter we've been hearing."

even though sprint's network in raleigh is SHIT, i might just switch over for the right phone.

maybe not though, since t-mobile will be getting some good shit too.

lol i never thought i'd hear anyone say they'd switch to sprint for a phone

sprint has THE shittiest phones ever, and i hate their network too, but it's so damn cheap that i can't bring myself to switch to any of the other networks - especially when it comes to data plans

yeah, my contract with sprint ended last month and I'm just hoping something new and cool comes out. I wouldn't mind an iphone, but I can't afford $83 a month and I get 25% off with any sprint plans including data. Sprint really needs some cool stuff like now.

I thought this was supposed to come out yesterday? I checked the sprint website and don't see any updates?

i've had a t-mobile phone in Raleigh for about 17months now. today is the first time I've ever been on the tmobile network here in Raleigh. I hope t-mobile expanded their coverage to here now: http://blog.news-record.com/staff/bizbuzz/2007/09/tmobile_to_grow.shtml

they could only give me a 252 number 17months ago. I wonder if we can get 919 numbers now

judging from the reviews of the GSM version, its seems like the htc is going to be laggy and the interface is buggy.
