Our company is having meetings for budget spending because employees are complaining we're not getting enough perks (insurance is too high, we bust our asses for a minor and rare raise, etc), and the afternoon after the said meeting, one employee noticed the office staff all got take-out restaurant-quality lunch on the company card. It's a minor expenditure compared to the thousands upon thousands we spend on necessary business costs, but it all adds up. It's more the principle of how it's a slap in the face than the actual impact of the wasteful spending that bothers us.Any nice way to mention this to the superiors?

Tell them you'd rather get raises than lunch. Doubt they'll take the suggestion though since it's cheaper for them to provide lunch every once in awhile.

But they didn't buy us lunch either, just the office staff... we all stood around and watched them gorge. We're the ones who get sent out into the field. That's why it burned a little.

them getting lunch or not will have 0 impact on you getting any real perks. youll just looks like a whiney bitch so id just drop it and blog on thewolfweb.

I actually didn't whine, it was a coworker who went on and on about it that got me to worrying about his reaction.

Sounds like you work for a crappy company and nothing will really change. I worked for a place like that once and fairly quickly found a new job.

Go get yourself some restaurant-quality food on the company card.Problem solved.

Damn. The coworker confronted the boss apparently, and exchanged words. He's in buddy-buddy with the top dog though so I assume it won't impact his stay. I wouldn't say anything about it though.

Our president sat us down and told us that the company wasn't doing well financially, and there would be no Christmas bonus or raises last year...and then in February he set up a company wide ski trip and allowed all employees to bring as many guests as they want, all expenses paidyeah I don't work there anymore

Ill mail you a check for 10 bucks to buy your own "restaurant-quality lunch" if its really an issue
