Howard Dean just called it into order. Ted Kennedy is making a surprise appearance tonight as well.

8/25/2008 5:06:45 PM
Is this seriously going to be on all the broadcast networks tonight, yet alone all wekk? For real? If I wanted to watch that shit I would watch CNN/MSNBC/FOX whatever, I want my mindless Reality TV or Over the top Crime Drama damn it.
8/25/2008 5:13:41 PM
this shit better not interfere with (albeit preseason) Monday Night Football
8/25/2008 5:17:33 PM
It goes until 9, it'll be closer to the end that tonight's main speaker Michelle Obama is slated for closer to the end when things start to pick up.How could saying the DNC chair called things to order, and a prominent longstanding member of the party who recently nearly died will be making a surprise appearance misunderstood as a jab at the party? Unless its in the same way that hearing the Bush or Cheney names is considered a negative for republicans?Pelosi will speak tonight too.
8/25/2008 5:19:27 PM
Game is on ESPN I think. And the convention is on from 10-11 on all the major networks, why I dunno.
8/25/2008 5:21:40 PM
8/25/2008 5:22:44 PM
Michelle Obama has some big-ass hands. I wonder if she is related to Arsenio Hall.Having Ted Kennedy get out there continues a tradition of the DNC parading cripples, AIDS and cancer victims out for the sympathy vote. Christopher Reeve, Elizabeth Fraser and Ron Kovic have been some other notable examples.
8/25/2008 5:28:20 PM
except that ted kennedy is a senior democratic senatoryeah, definitely comparable
8/25/2008 5:29:19 PM
With nominations decided well before conventions, having surprise guests that could kill-over, a few protests like the RECREATE 68, the unknown element of how Clinton supporters are going to act, in addition to good speakers like Obama should atleast keep things interesting.
8/25/2008 5:32:26 PM

8/25/2008 5:51:48 PM
ahaha. Free the Jenna 6 on that guy's shirt. That should pretty much revoke his right to vote. Anyone who thinks you should free people who almost beat a guy to death should not be allowed to vote. I'm beginning to understand why the framers said that only educated land owners should be able to vote.

thats probably the idea...to show how worldly they are...too bad only US citizens can vote
8/25/2008 7:02:31 PM
It actually ends at 11. I misunderstood earlier when I said it ends at 9, thats just that section of convention schedule. Sometime between 9 and 11 is when Michelle Obama will be speaking.
8/25/2008 7:10:18 PM
Haha, and you act like the RNC is actually a better ticket?Rudy 9/11? Cheney? McCain? Hahahaha
8/25/2008 7:10:30 PM
Some of tomorrows speakers include:Governor Deval Patrick of Massachusetts; Governor Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas; Governor Ted Strickland of Ohio; Governor Janet Napolitano of Arizona; Governor Ted Strickland of OhioAnd other governors and senators will be speaking as well, but with each passing day they start pulling out better cards.

Michelle Obama to hillary supporters: gotcha bitches
8/25/2008 10:59:22 PM
World to Hillary supporters: shut the hell up and don't fuck this up for the rest of us
8/25/2008 11:18:19 PM
I think all sides in the media are trying to analyze every little tid bit of everything, Michelle Obama's speech included. It's really silly, all this punditry makes me want to scream on TV.Why not just say, sure - it was a good speech. It was...she delievered it well. Reading any more into it moving mountains or not being effective enough is silly...it was just a wonderfully written and executed speech and thats what she was supposed to do. You can tell she's been campaigning..[Edited on August 25, 2008 at 11:27 PM. Reason : -0]
8/25/2008 11:26:37 PM
well, there is a large faction of America who think she is a Blank Panther-like radical, so that speech, plus the two little girls, was really good at portraying her as just a regular woman
8/25/2008 11:29:07 PM
The Clintons, Joe Biden, Ted Kennedy......really driving towards CHANGE!
8/25/2008 11:33:00 PM
and John McCain will deliver tax breaks for his $100 million trophy wife.
8/25/2008 11:35:02 PM
she will be worse than Hillary was as First Lady.....

I didn't hear her speech last night, had to get in bed because I work so early (about to step out the door and drive there now), but after listening to it now I thought it was pretty good, especially the last few minutes of it.http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/politics/2008/08/26/michelle.obama.long.cnn

Most ignored speech
8/26/2008 12:46:27 PM
Pelosi's speech was terrible. Awful in fact...but it remains to be seen how it stacks up with Rudy 9-11. Chances are good. However, your selected sources about how the rest of the speeches went is really cute. Now you quote the cueball? Hahahahahahah. You can't get a more loaded perspective particularly right now from him. Can't believe you actually are trying to sell that as some unbiased expert take on the night. Hooksaw, you are a moron.
