Recently. They bought Suncom. They're very excited about it, apparently.

I've heard plenty of people hate on verizon.

My dad for one, a lot.

alltel ftw. until the buyout happens, then verizon ftl (unless they have a major change in customer service, don't fuck up alltel's pricing and phone service).

i like their selections of phones better.

have you lived in areas where they provide service? i've heard lots of stories from people that have had problems. they have more problems than others, considering they have great plans for very little money. 39.99 for 1000 mins is rather good. a bunch of people thought so and b/c of them it fucked up their network for a time.

I hate Verizon AND AT&T. Both of 'em nickel'n'dime ya. I especially hate the user interface Verizon sticks on all their phones. At least AT&T and T-Mo use GSM, so you can pull your SIM and take it with you when you upgrade.

Oh and btw, stick your NCSU email address as your "work email" on at&t's site for a 15% discount off your bill. Dunno who else does that. http://www.wireless.att.com/businesscenter/
