My dad got one of these at best buy with a gift card (he gets best buy gift cards as rewards with his credit card).

It's a 500 GB network attached drive. It won't boot and I can't get in touch with WD customer service (I tried calling them and the automated phone service just hangs up on me.) I searched online and found a bunch of people with the same problem, but no solutions. Anyone have any experience with these?
