LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of Dave Matthews Band, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2008, at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles from sudden complications stemming from his June ATV accident on his farm near Charlottesville, Virginia. Moore had recently returned to his Los Angeles home to begin an intensive physical rehabilitation program.

man that sucks. he was always one of my inspirations when i played in jazz bands. say what you want about dmb, but their musicianship is unparalleled in my mind, and its gonna take a big hit now

they were giving DMB a hard time on the radio b/c they played a concert tues night after learning of his death.

It does seem odd to me that they would be composed enough to go on with a show after the death of someone who had been with the band since its inception (15 years). Who knows though, maybe that actually is what he would have wanted...

his aunt was a substitute teacher at my middle school (back when under the table and dreaming had just come out). she talked about meeting the band what "nice boys" they were. i feel for his family. not really a fan of their music anymore, but if his aunt is any indication, he was likely a good man.

Well I guess deaths really do come in threes. Someone on here just asked the other week after Hayes dies, "Who will complete the black trivecta?" I guess we know now.
