are old, yes, but what are your thoughts T-Dub, on upgrading the processor? If you had just like $200-300, would you upgrade the processor? The mobo is Cobra GL6E. Current processor is Intel 2.8GHz 800MHz fsb. 2MB L2 Cache. Vid card is midgrade, power supply had been upgraded. Computer just needs a little bit more power to run some apps (okay, games) smoothly. Would dropping like $200 be worthwhile? Would it make a big difference to upgrading to a, say 2.4ghz dual core? Help me.btw:http://www.buy.com/prod/intel-core-2-duo-t7200-2-0ghz-socket-478-mobile-processor-2-0ghz/q/loc/101/202916481.html^Do you see what I see?

complete waste of time.for $200 and some change, you can get a decent E7200 & a low-end 775 motherboard.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115052http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128337http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227139is all you need for $234 ARadd this:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130332(although you need a 6-pin PCI-E x16 power adapter, which i'm guessing your old PSU doesn't have)you may need something like this for a PCI-E x16 graphics card - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812200106for $314 total AR (plus cable if you need it)[Edited on August 11, 2008 at 4:13 PM. yup..no point in wasting your time on that processor--its ridiculously priced bc it's a mobile processor

Haha, I wasn't looking at that processor specifically, but wanted some thought on whether or not an upgraded processor is worth any amount of time/effort. With that processor I listed, I saw the "you save: $884,275.01". I was like, "holy $h!t that's gotta be a typo."
