Has anyone been recently and could let me know what the options are for a cellphone that has real internet access? Nokia?I don't care if it works in the U.S. I'll be working from China, Japan, Korea, etc...I want REAL internet access. iphone doesn't work in korea, so that's out. Blackjack II works Korea/Japan, but I hate them. What else is there?Asians don't seem to like internet phones. Just texting, T.V./vid on demand, and other shit I don't need.Blackberries and other phones don't seem to do well there, if there is even support there.Any help?

^^what kind of phone do you already have? Back in May when i went over to London/Holland i just went up to one of those sim card vending machines and got a temp. sim card and put it in my AT&T phone. Worked for phone and data. Ended up being much cheaper then getting a new phone or plan. Even if i didn't get a temp. sim card my phone still would have worked. Cost like 1.19$ minute though. Incoming text messages were still free which was cool. -i guess this was only for a short period of time though. (12 days). You're gonna be there longer.[Edited on August 11, 2008 at 10:08 AM. I've just got a cheap GSM phone from At&t. I was going to upgrade, but there is no point, since I'll be working overseas for a while. I want a phone that works in Asia, has a real browser/email and lets me use IM and whatnot. It'll be for business and personal use.A real keyboard would be nice too, side out is fine. I dunno anyone there yet, so I can't call and say "reserve me a phone, would ya?".

I know people that have used http://www.rangeroamer.com without any problems. Outgoing calls are a bit weird (at least on the phone he had) in that when you dial a number it rings and hangs up. Then a few seconds later your phone rings and you answer it, only to hear it ringing the number you dialed. Incoming calls are normal. It's like they're rerouting outgoing calls as incoming calls to get a better rate.

Similar issue: I'll be in London for two months. Already have an unlocked gsm quadband blackberry. Need to receive/make calls to both American and other UK numbers. Would be nice to have email, internet, etc. though not necessary. Anyone know of good sim card options?
