Just seemd liek the best bang for the buck.
8/3/2008 10:02:20 AM
Not exactly an LS2 GTO huh.
8/3/2008 10:42:56 AM
nope, but a godo conditoin ls2 was going to be about the same price, and im not that mechanically inclined to be able to handle fixing shit when it does break (my old car was a Pontiac and it was falling apart at 100k)and honeslty, since im keeping the RR, I wanted something a little pratcial and with better gas millage.Althought i think they should come with Boy Ricer Tshirts
8/3/2008 11:18:20 AM
I bet the LS2 will last longer and be more reliable than the MZR motor in the '3 . You won't have to worry about replacing the turbo or any of the expensive direct injection parts. But everything else will go to shit sooner on a GTO.[Edited on August 3, 2008 at 12:35 PM. Reason : .]
8/3/2008 12:35:17 PM
Well, in 10 years the GTO would be a GTO and the mazda will be a mazda. likely well on its way to being recycled for spare parts then made into beer cans.
8/3/2008 12:37:37 PM
8/3/2008 2:26:45 PM
of course the M3 will run circles around a fullsized truck
8/3/2008 3:13:25 PM
I dont like big trucks. THe LS2 GTO was very very tmepting, and i know its one of them lifetime things.
8/3/2008 3:36:18 PM
is this a new ms3 or what? i'm not that familiar with the used market on them, but i can't imagine it being that much of a savings over an ls2 gto. msrp on a new ms3 is around $25k, right?^^^yeah, but unfortunately these days diesel prices negate the fuel mileage. mine stays parked at my office and i only use it when i really need it. pretty sad that my vette is the most economical vehicle i have right now. ^^i wouldn't count on it... in the curves, yes but otherwise any of the modern light duty diesel trucks will embarrass one with $500-1000 in mods.

8/3/2008 7:54:41 PM
Mazdaspeed 3 is among the best of the hopped up shitboxes folks. It's not an Ion redline or something.
8/3/2008 11:16:47 PM
sorry I wasn't clear people. circles = curves in my previous post. in other words the ms3 would whip a diesel truck on a road course or mtn road.Ivan, I think you can get them in the low 20s.

Zoom Zoom!
8/4/2008 12:24:56 AM
despite all the haterificsi personally like this car. fair mpg, fun to drive, im partial towards hatchesi cant stand american interiors. nothing screams shit louder than a gm dash.
8/4/2008 2:36:54 AM
This car doesn't sound bad to me either. It's not what my first choice would be, but if it works for him then that's great. Plus, I drive a Mazda. Granted, it's much older and slower, but it's still a Mazda.
8/4/2008 3:35:40 AM
Does it come with a car seatWhy cant they make a 2 door hatch version. The people who drive these things are not 35.
8/4/2008 8:26:37 AM
Looks are eh,But hoenslty its fun to drive, and still has some practicality. Its the grand touring, had the car port controls and the hid lights. Its only a year old with 12k , i got about 6k off a new one, There arent many around, so i paid over black book value, (18,900) but not much.Plus it was low milage
8/4/2008 11:07:23 AM
I dig the MS3. Good choice.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6PGMi89qRo
8/4/2008 11:24:24 AM
God why can't they make a regular sedan version of the ms3?I hate hatchbacks.
8/4/2008 12:56:22 PM
it came down between that ant the colbalt ss, and while the ss is probably faster, i just didnt feel like living in plastic hell.
8/5/2008 4:40:08 PM
How strict are you going to be with putting premium in the tank? Just wondering if other people were doing it.
8/7/2008 11:08:53 AM
its a turbo car... you should DEF BE STRICT WITH IT IF THATS WHAT IT ASKS FOR.
8/7/2008 11:19:42 AM
ohhh its getting fed 93 from shell or bp for its life
8/8/2008 10:40:40 AM
^ Good Call.
8/8/2008 11:07:09 AM
glad to see you have that good sense of mind.
8/8/2008 11:19:38 AM
its a fun car, right now im thinking about if i actually want ot be happy with it or try to make it faster.
8/8/2008 2:34:31 PM
I can't have a car without an exhaust for some reason. I mean, if it were simply a commuter or an SUV or a truck then I wouldn't want one. But if it's anything even remotely "performance" oriented then I always put a noise maker on it.
8/8/2008 3:02:03 PM
The stock exhaust is actually pretty damned nice sounding. Most of the mods i see are people removing the cats after the turbo (there are 2 of them) however, people that do this then have problems with smoke and turbo seals (argument is that the cats just filter out already existent smoke) but the dealers void warranty if you put a tbe on it.Gains look good. but from what ive read, 350hp is about the limit on this car, without breaking open the engine.I have to work on shifting fastre before i put any performance mods on it.

Why yes, you're a fag.[Edited on August 10, 2008 at 5:41 PM. Reason : And jesus god I hope you haven't been fed that same pile of bullshit that kate fed everyone else.]
8/10/2008 5:39:59 PM
your original comment was retardedly worded and you know it. not to mention the retardness that comes along with just wanting an aftermarket exhaust system just to make some noise
8/10/2008 5:44:35 PM
You're a fag and you know it. It's becoming clear that she did in fact feed you that bullshit and that you've bought into it.I'm not going to waste the time to write "turbo back exhaust system" or "cat back exhaust system," cockbag. Calling it a noisemaker was clearly a joking remark, G Money.
8/10/2008 5:47:05 PM
^ TBE/CBE is pretty standard nomenclature
8/10/2008 6:34:53 PM
Yes it is commonly used (As is the term "exhaust"). Everyone in here, including the OP knew that "exhaust" simply referred to any possible exhaust system he may choose. It's quite obvious what I was talking about and I would hope that by now you guys know that I do in fact understand what an exhaust system is and does. I will continue to call that shit "an exhaust" honestly. I've owned all kinds of exhaust systems and I am aware of the usage of TBE and CBE (Plus other shit like SE). It's really not that big of a deal to call it "an exhaust." Plus, it's absolutely ridiculous to care enough to talk shit about it. [Edited on August 10, 2008 at 6:49 PM. Reason : Exhaust ]
8/10/2008 6:46:42 PM
will it outrun a neon SRT4, stock for stock? got as much potential as one? You made a fine choice, imo. What kind of gas mileage are you getting with it?[Edited on August 10, 2008 at 8:03 PM. Reason : ?]
8/10/2008 8:03:09 PM
^I haven't read any firsthand accounts of a Neon SRT4 running against an MS3, but from the numbers I've seen in magazines the SRT4 would win.
8/10/2008 10:04:44 PM
^im sure it would be alot down to the driver, both would probably be within a few 10ths if that.I didn't just get it for just speed, its a pretty damned piratical bitch, i hauled do dressers to my gfs house this past week no problem., im getting around 20mpg (but im driving pretty dumb right now) and it handles decently.Hell an evo is a hopped up shit box. Im not saying its = to an evo, but lets look at these cars for what they are, sure they are turds, but they are well polished turds.and i almsot went ofr a cobalt ss, looks like a really nice car, but the salesperson was a douche, and the interior reminded me of like $5 plastic dash kits you get with crappy headunits.I mean really when you hit the chevy dash it made this tinny tink sound. Mazda interior is nice, little bit of flash, but its fun.[Edited on August 11, 2008 at 12:14 AM. Reason : dd]
