bought a suit off the rack and need to get it tailored. what is the best place to go?

My wife likes Duke's Tailors off of Creedmoor - they always seem to do a good job and the lady who runs it is nice

wangs tailor off over by that wendys on .... western? its been awhile

its the bomb. i took my shit there all through college and even after when i was going home every few months

i want to say its at gorman and western across the st from wendys. they are in a small house with a sign out front

^ wang's does a great job, and it is there across from the wendy's. there's also lee's tailors in south point mall, they've done good work for me too.

wangs, they moved into the house behind the mcdonalds right by that street that goes behind food lion and whatever, still the same area...just a different house

^^^same here...i'm thinking I wouldn't pay more than like $8 for each item if all they have to do is take material in some places, etc.

Wang's if you are near campus. Otherwise go to the tailor in Stonehenge. I'm friends with their daughter and they do a kick ass job of tailoring.

alterations usually dont cost that much

usually $10 or less for simple taking up the hem on pants or darts on dress shirts etc.

i like Lee's. in Crabtree (the have other locations as well)

i like them better than Wang's. Wang's is cheap. Lee's is still cheap but they do a little better with alterations and not that much more bling than Wang's.

wangs is closer to campus and they always ask what day you want to pick it up instead of telling you when they'll be done with it

usually if you need something back the next day and take it in early enough its no problem

both wangs and lees will do same day tailoring too (again like ^ said, if you take it in early enough). the same day costs like 3 bucks more making it like 10 dollars instead of like 7 or something. for just a regular pant hem, anyway.

Altering a suit is going to run anywhere from $40 to $100 depending on how much you need done. Of course if all you need is the hem brought up then its much less but often people need pleats reset, waist brought in, jacket brought in, sleeves adjusted, etc.
