Wow, that would scar me for life. I think i'm already scarred just from reading that story.

Clearly they need more knife control laws in Canada.

^^ I'll admit it's slightly unclear, but the people left the bus, including the driver, when the guy started the stabbing. The driver later returned with another guy, and then he chased them out of the bus.
7/31/2008 1:58:21 PM
Well, everyone else on the bus, including the driver, was unarmed. I am curious how the driver disabled the bus from the outside. Is there an emergecy fuel-pump cutoff or something? Such might be useful later on...That said, if the guy was contained with his victim, which was probably fatal too soon in the attack to have been helped, then doing anything but waiting for the police would suffice. However, that is only because the attacker gave up. If he instead broke a window and started chasing people through the street then his deathtoll could have been higher. But nothing, even arming the victim with a gun, would have saved the life of the victim.

Fire extinguisher to the head would have stopped him.

this is why you keep the death penalty around.

7/31/2008 3:01:33 PM
Yes, because that guy would obviously be deterred by the death penalty.
7/31/2008 3:01:42 PM
I know it would make me feel better. I hate seeing remorseless murderers on TV decades after their convictions.

Yeah, this makes Canada a terrible place

No, Canada is just naturally a terrible place. I lived there for two years and only Quebec had anything to offer.[Edited on July 31, 2008 at 3:25 PM. Reason : .,.]

I would have ran too. Unless I had a bigger weapon. Sad for the kid. Sad for this world.

thats a big shit eating grin, if i ever saw one....on first read, i feel like the people on the bus were pussies, but after consideration... everyone was suprised, shocked out of their sleeping or dozing state, the dude was in the back and had a huge rambo hunting knife and was using it quite expertly and viciously.no one on the bus had a similar weapon, nor (i imagine) martial arts training to approach him head on and disarm him without getting their own throat slashed for their effort.i'm afraid i would have had to run, too

i just saw this on CNN... that's rough. and i thought canadians were peaceful...
