I know i've seen some threads in the past on paintball, but they're all from like 2005/2006.I just bought my first paintball guns and am looking to go play here in the next few weeks. I've played a few times, but always with a rental gun.I picked up a used Spyder Imagine and a Tippmann A-5 (package deal). Both seem to be in great shape and ready to go.Anyone looking to play sometime soon?

Such an expensive hobby though....I wish I had the money to play

This is BY FAR one of my cheapest hobbies.I also race nitro and electric R/Cs (have/had a couple $grand$ at least invested) AND also am fixing up a motorcycle and a jeep, just to name a few.

^^ just get sponsored and it becomes alot cheaper.

it has become a lot cheaper in the past few years. back when i played tournies electro pneumatics would run you around a grand for a good one, now you can pick one up for 200.

any of you guys still play?
7/20/2008 9:36:24 PM
I've got 5-6 guns, tanks, and masks in my closet right now. The real world doesn't leave much time to play with toys

I built up a small collection then sold msot of it, kept my little spring fed holster gun, and of course my A5 e trigger with the 68/4500 tank and the case of paint sized pod pack.

^I'm guessing you're familiar with the A-5 cyclone assembly?Mine's not advancing balls....it works when I try to feed them manually with the little push-rod, but i'm guessing the little *star* inside the hopper isnt turning when firing normally.Any ideas?

I sold off all my high end guns right around the time the market crashed. all I kept was my trusty phantom

^^http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvD60m7Yml8Tried this maintenance/cleaning?I got out a long time ago, but when 8 or 9 of us had our own paintguns then living in the woods/fields provided an easy and new course setup almost everytime we got together. Only had to go to the paintball courses for the speedball setups. I actually just came across my old tipmann pro-lite and still got the tanks/mask/gear with it. I'd say when most of us started purchasing real guns was when we lost interest and $, along with everyone's priorities changing (understandably) to pussy and parties.

It's going the other way for me, lol.I've bought several REAL guns in the last few months, but never really got into paintball before. I just got the itch to go lately.

I have an Angel LED that I haven't used in years. I also have an AutoMag and an old ass Spyder SE. I would love to sell some of this stuff.
7/22/2008 11:31:21 AM
^ you'd only get about 200 back out of it
7/23/2008 8:03:06 PM
I completely took my A-5 apart last night and got everything working 100%. This should be a sweet woodsball gun, and I guess I'll use my Spyder (full-auto) for speedball.I need to find the time to play!
7/23/2008 9:25:58 PM
sold my stuff after i graduated. was some sweet gear too, didnt drop much in value though (unlike most guns).
7/23/2008 10:28:36 PM
I think I would sell the Angel for 200. The tank needs to be rehydro'ed[Edited on July 24, 2008 at 10:39 AM. Reason : m]
7/24/2008 10:39:21 AM
^ you'd be lucky to get 100 for an old angel led

I've never played, and I want to go soon. Where's the best place to go in Raleigh for a new person like me?

I pulled out my old Automag over the weekend. It looks like a lot of the air hose fittings need to be replaced due to corrosion/rust. If I get back into paintball, I may just spring for a used Angel. Those guns were made of wrath and sex when I played a lot in high school. I assume that they still are.

lots of new guns out, though mags are still great guns. You can always get a tipman if you just want a mech marker that is rock solid. Helps that they dont have as many seals as some designs, have built in on bolt antichop on the newer models, and have power feed without batteries.

Hell, get a propane powered gun and then you're not paying shit for air or CO2 at least. Although then you have to deal with the fact that it's loud as shit.[Edited on September 20, 2008 at 8:52 PM. Reason : ]

^ Nitrogen. Stable, consistent pressure all all temperatures.
9/21/2008 3:24:12 PM
he's right though. those propane guns get something like 10k shots per fill if i recall and that fill wont cost you jack shit. if you are just playing recreationally, that is the way to go.
