What processor, chipset and motherboard? I've heard that the 9450 cpu's had a defective temp sensor on a few of their batches. My friend was reading about 40 C at idle with his aftermarket cooler and blamed me for not seating the cpu/paste correctly. I was like "dude, I've building shit for so long, it's not my fault". Thank god it wasn't. lol

I get 45c with my readings on a Q9450, did some reading and apparently they aren't accurate. Realtemp gives the correct reading.

The CPU temp at load is far more important to worry about.

What is a good temperature for motherboards, what range are they usually in?

Mine idles at ~32* and under load no higher than 42* iirc. I'll have to see when I get home to post more

it really depends if you're referring to northbridge or southbridge temp and what chipset you are running.

Gotcha,I'm at 35c, just curious where that ranged.

not to mention Intel chipsets run cooler than nvidia's shit.
