http://dragonage.bioware.com/http://www.gametrailers.com/game/9022.htmlSo finally Bioware is finally ready to show the spiritual successor to, imo, the greatest RPG of all time. Those clips on gametrailers didn't really do much for me, however this screenshot alone shot this game to damn near the top of my most wanted games list. That's fucking Baldur's Gate!!!!!!!!!!

More screenshots, holy shit this really is Baldur's Gate III.
7/15/2008 8:43:52 AM
wow that does look good. i wish they'd title it something a little less generic than 'dragon age'. I didn't know anything about it or that it looked this good. Seems stupid but still.
7/15/2008 9:03:39 AM

This game looks sweet. Too bad it's not going to be ported to the console for some time. My wife was looking for a Baldur's Gate type of game that we can play together. But this looks like it's going to be single player and maybe multiplayer online only.
7/17/2008 10:21:51 AM
This game looks solid!

I pre-ordered this yesterday, and it says Not Yet Released in my Steam Games List. I'm more excited about this game than even Left4dead 2!
10/22/2009 4:45:13 PM
^ PC? nm, guess so if it's on Steam.trying to decide between PC and 360, leaning towards PC. any thoughts?
10/22/2009 4:47:58 PM

10/22/2009 5:15:21 PM
I'd like to thank all you faggot console gamers for the fact that there's already $15 of downloadable content before the game is even out.

Apparently PC Gamer UK gave it a 94 and called it the RPG of the decade.
10/22/2009 9:22:45 PM
gah! too many games, too little time. I think I'll put this on my christmas list. My wife was complaining that everything on my list is too expensive so this should simmer down the price.
10/23/2009 8:46:47 AM
Man...I still haven't even played my copies of Fallout 3, Left4Dead, and Metal Gear... But I really want this, Demon Souls, and Borderlands...
10/23/2009 8:57:52 AM
You haven't played Fallout 3 and you own the software? My bobblehead frowns on your shenanigans.
10/23/2009 9:14:13 AM
Not playing Fallout3 when you own it is a gamer sin.
10/23/2009 10:32:38 AM
I preordered this yesterday on Steam. I cannot wait.
10/23/2009 7:03:22 PM
Not playing Fallout 3 when you own it is a waste of money. I can't really call it anything worse than that, though, because compared to most RPGs Bioware makes, Fallout 3 was pretty far below mediocre. Unfortunately, Bethseda gives a shitty name to Western RPGs in general... they'd be a great studio, too, if they could just learn how to script dialog, hire decent voice actors, and include some meaningful content outside of the (excessively short) main story lines of their games... as opposed to just more empty and pointless shit to explore in their huge environments. As for the thread topic, Dragon Age... I'm reluctant to buy it when it comes out, because I want to continue attending classes for the rest of this semester... but if I get it at Christmas time, then I'll be ruining the beginning of my next semester... I could always try not becoming immediately addicted to it, but I doubt that plan would hold up.

I've had Mass Effect sitting in the wrapper since release...
10/25/2009 8:25:48 AM
I bought Bioshock VIA steam, played through like 2 hours of it and haven't come back to it.
10/25/2009 9:27:00 AM
wow, somehow I totally missed this, but will be checking it out next week

I got:Intel Core2 Duo T8300@2.40GHz4GB of RAMNVIDIA GeForce 8600M GTI think I am in good shape except not sure about the video card
10/25/2009 11:13:59 PM
why dont you just get it on 360 if you're worried about performance
10/25/2009 11:19:41 PM
^Have you ever played Baldur's Gate? Do you remember the gameplay style? Consoles simply can't recreate that command system.
10/25/2009 11:22:06 PM
baldurs gate is some faggot shitthis is way different
10/25/2009 11:23:42 PM
oh well okay then
10/25/2009 11:25:30 PM
yeah, xbox is only good for football, hockey and bball.
10/25/2009 11:27:24 PM
^4Did you see that video I posted. Looks like it will work fine for 360.
10/26/2009 12:13:55 AM
Oh, I'm sure it'll work. There was never any question about that. Bioware is making this, after all.It would just work a lot differently. I didn't get a chance to watch much of the PC version quick look video, so I really didn't see much gameplay, but I would expect that they'd include some sort of vaguely-RTS-style click-and-drag or multi-character command system for the PC version, which really isn't as easy to implement on a console. If they don't... well, I for one will be somewhat disappointed... but I really don't see why they wouldn't do that when given the capabilities. And on an unrelated note, I am a bit disappointed that the combat bar on the PC version is basically directly emulating World of Warcraft. Seems like a sort of mass-customer-appeal cop out when they could have just as easily used the (in my opinion) far better-looking and more functional command bar of their older PC RPGs. Then again, I could be completely wrong on this, and it may very well be possible to include buttons on the bar that aren't just different types of attacks (like Forced Talk, Stop, Forced Attack, and stuff like that), such that it essentially looks just like the command bar from Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. ...What seems more likely, though, is that those sort of actions end up on some kind of hotkey or shift-click/ctrl-click system (though I for one would rather use the direct clicking method). Ideally, we'll have the option to be able to do it both ways. And of course this is all speculation, since I've never played the game. For all I know, they've completely let me down and not included a Forced Attack command at all.
10/26/2009 12:40:33 AM
pretty sure the industry standard is to "copy what works"why keep trying to reinvent something if it is already widely accepted as a certain way?
10/26/2009 8:45:56 AM
I have had this pre-ordered since they first announced it...I can hardly wait the last home strech to get my hands on it!
10/26/2009 12:28:14 PM
sooo anyone else know anything about my video card in relation to the reqd and rec?
