Can anyone help me out here? I'm looking at a Santa Rosa laptop (GM965 chipset) with a Merom processor (Core 2 Duo T5750, 65nm, 667MHz bus). Will Intel Dynamic Acceleration (IDA) work with this configuration? I've Googled around and it could be interpreted that IDA will work on a Merom processor as long as you have a GM965 chipset, however I'm thinking IDA should also be a function of the processor. The list of Core 2 processors on wikipedia seems to imply that IDA only works with Penryn processors because the first mention of IDA on that page comes under '"Penryn" (standard-voltage, 45 nm)'.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Core_2_microprocessorsI know that I probably shouldn't choose a laptop base on IDA alone because I read it doesn't make a big difference, but I'm just curious. Does anyone know for sure?Thanks.-----------------------------------Update: I just found this post in notebookreview

Thanks for the response. I think my curiosity is satisfied at this point. I also read an article at anandtech that said IDA isn't worth the bother because it won't kick in most of the time and only yields a marginal performance boost, so I'm not too concerned anymore.
