I'm in the market for a sofa and loveseat.....i imagine my budget will be around $800 for the bothI'm not too concerned with longevity, since i'm still a student......but i know there are a number of outlets around Raleigh so does anyone have recommendations??? I check craigslist every now and then, but i think i would like to buy from somewhere new so they'll deliver.....

I think rooms to go sometimes has sofa's you can afford in this price range. They don't last forever, though, given their price.I was also informed (by TWW, once) that the big lots off glenwood carries ashley furniture at a pretty big discount from what they sell it at the ashley furniture direct stores. Dunno if that'd be in your price range or not as I've never gone to check out the claims.

the plural of sofa is sofas. why do you think you need an apostrophe?there are a million furniture stores on glenwood ave.

Making sure you weren't talking about the ones I was thinking of. You are. They all suck ass. Don't bother.

There is a furniture outlet sale at some place off the Page Road Extension just west of the airport.

Goodwill, Tryon Road. Get yourself a sofa AND loveseat for under $50 total, then send the extra $750 my way as a thank you for this advice.

^ I figured it would be way sooner than 1.5 hr to get that responseSome people want new stuff
7/8/2008 2:29:45 PM
Yeah, I was shocked and appalled that no one else had mentioned it.The whole getting new stuff mentality is just so foreign to me
7/8/2008 3:20:48 PM
^normally, i would agree with youi prefer to buy used stuff a lot of the time, except clothes and some electronics.......but i'm funny about used furniture, b/c i'm so anal

i actually got a really nice couch for $90 from the salvation army in garner.it was clean, no stains, and didn't smell funny. i'm pretty sure it was almost new, and maybe the only reason it was there was because one of the back legs was broke, but i fixed that right up with some gorilla glue i still have that couch, i love it.the only used furniture i'm weird about is used mattresses. i spent a lot of money on my mattress set because that is something that's very important to me. otherwise, i'd rather have good quality used furniture than new cheap shit... but that's just me.[Edited on July 8, 2008 at 4:41 PM. My dad owns a furniture store in Sanford. Go there!!!
7/8/2008 4:53:11 PM
he wanna cut me a good ass deal?

Oh yeah, you're definitely going to need to avoid most of the brick and mortar shops out there. I checked through them when I was trying to find my leather sofa and their prices were all +$1000 for a leather sofa. I got the sofa I have now from a place called bedroom & sofa emporium (at the intersection of cary pkwy and tryon) for $800 + delivery fees (he ate the tax and had low delivery fees and the best price for a sofa like this that I've seen).I think some department stores carry furniture. JC Penney has some good stuff sometimes, I got my mattress there for a decent price. Let me check their catalog right quick for furniture...Hey, check out JC Penney's website, they've got some decent sales going on there right now. Sofas for $399, loveseats from $379. If you open a JC Penney card in-store you can save 10%, too, which is how I got my mattress on the cheap. They do deliver. I think the store at crabtree has a furniture section downstairs where you could check out some of these sofas.[Edited on July 8, 2008 at 5:07 PM. Reason : ]

^awesome, i always forget to check JCP for stuff like this
7/8/2008 7:55:10 PM
Yeah, I always do too cause I always shop at the one in Cary Towne Center (the mall at maynard & walnut). That one doesn't have all the nice stuff the one at Crabtree has.[Edited on July 8, 2008 at 7:59 PM. Reason : Saw a coffee table on JCP that I want now, lol.]
7/8/2008 7:59:19 PM
haha, i started seeing other things i wanted too so i went ahead and closed the tab i'll definitely give them a look though
7/8/2008 8:03:01 PM
what store are you talking about at crabtree? there's no jc penneys there.
7/8/2008 9:17:13 PM
Whoops, I thought that was where we went. It's apparently up at north hills.
7/8/2008 10:06:01 PM
hit up the home comfort clearance center on glenwoodi just got a sofa from there, plus 2 end tables and a coffee table for $1003 deliveredand women love the sofa, if you're into those

I have had good results with Heavner Furniture Outlet. There is one on Ebenezer Church at Glenwood Ave. across from CarMax and there is one on 70 just west of Smithfield.I have bought stuff at both stores. They have a HUGE selection. I would say each warehouse is 2 or 3 acres. Also as a suggestion, if you have room for 2 sofas, I would go that route. Its not that much more money and you can sit more people. Loveseats are a waste of time IMHO.YMMV

^ jeebus, I was just about to recommend that same place. We got a great table + chairs set delivered from there and we LOVE it. Great price too. And yeah, they have an amazing amount of crap there.
