there's already a thread for this event, lock.clearly it had nothing to do with the racing anyway, something else happened to the driver. he was 46, could have been any number of medical problems. this race is regulated to death for safety anyway, i don't see the fun in it. seems to mostly be a bunch of pretentious track day assholes that want to pretend they're doing something dangerous, cool, and monster garage'ish but not really. how about some u-car, banger, or figure 8 racing. now THAT's real entertainment and hardcore racing on the cheap.

^i'm not so sure about that one man.Me and some friends got a car and a team together. http://doriftodogs.comHow's it regulated to death for safety? They'll put a chicane in the straight to limit top speeds and theyll require at least a bolt in 6pt cage. Thats pretty barebones in the safety dept if you ask me.Our goal is simply to have fun and get a lot of racing seat time on the cheap. We hope to remain safe. Infact, we hope we don't hit anything. Its NOT a demolition derby. Its a light hearted fun endurance race on a relatively low budget. If you don't see why building a POS race car and racing it for 14 hours with your friends would be fun... well i dunno what to say.btw, i'm no longer driving because i'll be outta the country sooner than i expected. booo

it's just my opinion. obviously if you're involved in it, you're not going to agree. i just think there are other forms of dirt cheap racing that provide more fun, namely but not limited to the 3 i listed. none of those are demolition derbies, though contact is allowed and often encouraged. if you're into the endurance aspect, then i think 24hol is perfect. i just need a little more excitement in a shorter amount of time with less hassle i guess.
