My sister is looking for a car in the $8k range that is good on gas and reliable. I've seen a few korean cars that are still under warranty in her price range. is their quality still shit? should i just find her a honda or ford focus or something?

ive seen a bunch of focuses (foci?) in the 200k+ mile club, and they cost a lot less than the hondas. hondas are my first choice, they are just so expensive.

go with toyota. or honda.but korean cars are not bad these days. if you can get a 2005/+ model, it should be ok.

the later the better. My mom bought a 2001 Kia sephia (their old compact sedan civic/corolla knockoff) and it had a series of electrical problems covered under warranty right after she bought it. It doesn't cost any money out of pocket but it was annoying. I know Korean cars have steadily improved though.

just get a civic and be done with it if she's just wanting good on gas and reliableor hell, any of the typical honda or toyotas are fine.. and reliable, and good on gas

remember that the early Focus models had a bunch of recalls and stuff. I know a girl who bought an earlier one and it threw a rod a few months later at 130ish thousand miles.

Korean cars break stuff that isn't covered... they'll drive through warranty but their interior might as well be lawnchairs and pull strings by the time you get there.
