Can i buy these and inject them into my animals myself? it's a pain in the ass to transport the cats, and it's also a pain to catch them now that they are strictly outdoor animals.

Yes, except for rabies. By law that has to be done by someone else and recorded.

Don't get the crappy feed store ones. The brand of choice for most good breeders is Progard by intervet for dogs. The cat line is called Protex. Also look up the AAHA protocols. The distemper combo is only needed once every 3 years anyway. FeLV is needed every year to 14 months, and the outdoor cats definitely need that one. It's not hard at all to give them, just order from a reputable company. I've heard good things about revival animal health, KV vet supply, and valley vet.

I give my dachshund allergy shots (slightly off topic). It is really easy to do and the dog cooperates.

you're providing advice based on what breeders say?breeders have no more insight into animal health than the general publicin fact, most of them are idiots

Feed store vaccines are fine but....you have to make sure they have been stored properly and they are not expired. With that said you may be able to buy the vaccines from your vet. I've done it before but I also worked at the clinic for 4 years.
