Is this for a romantic night with the gf or a really expensive hooker?

I'd say Umstead as well for a romantic night. You can get a great dinner downstairs, then walk over to the bar and have a drink on the patio. The spa also has couple massages.

Okay, not the Triangle, but in NC and really nice: http://www.anchoragehouse.net/Beautiful house, friendly owners, and Beaufort is a cute little town. I want to go back here some time.We stayed in the Hemingway room and they're not lying when they say the bathroom is large. I know they were also building an adjacent penthouse suite sort of deal next to the house when we were there. I would imagine that's finished by now.[Edited on June 21, 2008 at 9:07 AM. The Arrowhead Inn B&B in Durham is amazing. Stayed there on our honeymoon night & for my wife's b-day last year. The folks that run it are incredible, and seriously it's the best breakfast I've ever had in my life.Highly recommended.edit: http://www.arrowheadinn.com/[Edited on June 21, 2008 at 11:07 AM. Back when I lived in Cary I remember there was a hotel right off the beltline.... maybe the Hampton or something. Anyway my wife and I would sometimes rent one of the penthouse sweets. They had really big hot tubs inside, a fireplace, and several rooms. We'd order room service or whatever too. I know we really enjoyed it, but I'm not sure if that's the sort of thing you're looking for or not.

meh, Fearrington is overrated. sure, it's nice, but it is NOT a country inn, it's like disneyworld. i'd go with the siena or take a drive out to pinehurst. would love to try the umstead but haven't been able to justify the price compared with pinehurst...maybe the next anniversary.
