If so which one? Like it?I've used a older Braun Foil before, and it worked ok but I'm curious about some of the newer models, especially the rotary ones. This one looks cool...http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000050FDQ]

i use the norelco quadraction and it works well. the neck places are hard to get sometimes, but if i want a "perfect" shave then i'll get out the straight razor

http://www.braun.com/na/360complete/360complete.htmli use this onebut have very light facial hair so it works pretty well for me

6/19/2008 10:53:08 AM
i bought this a few years agohttp://www.amazon.com/Norelco-9160XL-SmartTouch-XL-Shaver-Refurbished/dp/B000WYEX1G/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1213887223&sr=8-13it's a good razor but some parts of my neck i have to go over a few times if i don't replace the blades every once in a while ]]
6/19/2008 10:55:10 AM
i use electric while underway(navy)...but when in port i use regular ole razor....electric is for if you are on the go and need to get out there...otherwise shaving dry is nooo good
6/19/2008 10:56:09 AM
you know i saved a LOT of money switching over to a straight safety razer, the blades are a lot less expensive, last forever, and the gives me the closest shave out of all the razers i've tried, including electric.[Edited on June 19, 2008 at 10:56 AM. Reason : .]

I am on my second Remington. This time its a R-650s Titanium. I like it because you can wash out the head. My last one, you couldn't do that. Also, figure on a new head every year or so. You can get most replacements at Walmart or Target for about $30-$40.I like using the electric razor because I can keep it in my truck and it cuts down on my morning routine time. However, I feel like I don't get as close a shave with an electric as I do with a good 'ole Mach 3, so every once-in-a-while, I shave with that.
6/19/2008 10:57:40 AM
electric razors work great if you bother to keep the blades sharp...I've got some old Norelco]
6/19/2008 11:08:57 AM
i think i'd like to try a straight edge...i've used the mach3, quattro, and fusion, and NONE of them leave me smooth, and they sometimes irritate my skinmy one attempt at using an electric (a $90 norelco) left my skin so irritated that i had to put aloe on it to cool it off
6/19/2008 11:19:29 AM
fusion or bust
6/19/2008 11:22:36 AM
i've been using the same Remington microscreen 3 for like 8 years nowi only use it for my chin and around the mouth tho, since i can get closer there than with a razorotherwise....
6/19/2008 1:40:45 PM
i've been using the same mach3 for about 10 years. i just grew out a mustache/goatee though so i need to find something to keep that junk trim
6/19/2008 1:49:46 PM
The only thing electric I have is a beard trimmer...but the only facial hair I have is slight sideburns and a soul patch.Well, I do cut back the pubic hair on account of I got one of those jack-in-the-box peckers that, on a cold day, looks like a button on a fur coat (hard, it's like 6 or 7 times its limp size; WTF?!!), and I hate it gettin' wadded up in all that hair. But for my face? Electric SUCKS. I've been using one of those Mach 5 jobs as of late, and damn if I don't think it's worth the money. Best shave I've had in a long time, and the cartridges don't wear out so fast.

for christmas i got a norelco arcitec 1090x from my boss and i love it. at first i wasn't that excited because i have never had good results from electric razors inthe past, but this works great. http://tinyurl.com/3ngk59it's pricey though
6/19/2008 7:14:02 PM
if anyone likes a rotary electric more than a foil electric..why is that?

Philips Norelco T980 Turbo Vacuum TrimmerLol, I just have steady incoming facial hair and like to keep it looking nice. That thing has a vacuum on it so I don't have to clean up the bathroom counter constantly, and it cuts extremely nice looking and consistent based on the length setting you want.Couldn't be happier with this thing.

Used to use a Braun Activator since it was cheaper than buying refills on my old Gilette Sensor. Now that I get razors for free (Rite Aid rebates and CVS ExtraCare Bucks FTW) I rarely use it.
6/27/2008 1:01:05 PM
^ I had one of those..worked oki've since switched to an old style double sided safety razori also had a waterproof electric at one point that was nice to use in the shower when i was running late cause i could do it pretty quick and not have to deal with it once i was out..
6/27/2008 1:29:43 PM
i'm just gonna shave my whole life...shit is way better than a spotty shave from some electric one
6/27/2008 1:33:46 PM
No, I find them wildly ineffective since I'm ΒΌ werewolf. Not even the Mach 14 is much help
6/27/2008 2:04:19 PM
Does anyone have an electric shaver that actually shaves the neck adequately? I doubt such a thing exists
6/27/2008 2:18:43 PM
no. i have before and it irritated the shit outta my neck.

11/12/2008 9:11:23 PM
i want to get something like that...i was told there is this one kinda razor that like NEVER goes dull...i want one of those...even if it was 30 bucks it would be worth not having to buy fucking mach 3 refills all the time...
11/12/2008 9:14:35 PM
well, that one goes dull..but replacements are like $.10 a piece at most.. I wouldn't really say it's an economical choice but damn it's a good shave after you learn to use itUntil then you'll probably slice your face open a few times if you aren't careful.
11/12/2008 9:15:48 PM
don't fuck around with safety razors.

i have the classic and i think it's the best, blades are like $5 for 10 or something like that (lasts about a month):http://www.classicshaving.com/catalog/item/522941/284046.htm

http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=2DB6D82F52BA7608I keep going back and forth on what Merkur I want. I have a few months to decide though since I'm growing a beard for St. Baldricks. No matter what razor you use, the best advice I ever got was letting my beard grow out a tad to see exactly the direction of hair growth, especially on the neck. Once you learn to shave "with the grain" it pretty much completely eliminates razor burn and in-growns on the neck. The 3rd video in the playlist above talks about it. I had never noticed that the lower portion of my neck had hair growing upwards and that there is a bit of a "part" in the beard almost coming straight down from the left side of my mouth and hair on each side grows outwards to the ear on that side... if that makes any sense. In other words, if all you ever do is shave straight down, or just straight up on your neck, then you can probably further reduce shaving irritation and get a closer shave.Plus, $30 is about where decent razors start. A good shaving kit can easily run $200.

not any more, i wore mine out and just haven't replaced it...
