Are there any good dog parks in the Crossroads area where I can mine?

Carolina Pines dog park is off Lake Wheeler Road between Tryon and I-40. Take tryon east to wheeler, turn right, turn right at the sign to the park, follow the road until you hit parking lot, it's in the back corner past the ballfields.

very nice park, set up similarly to oakwood park, except fewer weirdos go there.

i think she's a little too young/not adjusted to her new home to take her out there, she freaks out ready to attack any other dog that comes near me.

So if there is one in Crossroads, she would do better? That doesn't make any sense.

Please don't bring her to Carolina Pines if she attacks other dogs., thats where my dog goes.

Take her to one of those dog training programs first so she'll learn those nifty socialize commands.

My brother did that for his dog and if you said "say hi" she'd calm down and just kind of sniff at the fence and wouldn't spaz the hell out. Now she doesn't care as much, but that's what happens if you're not there to reinforce the commands 24/7. Still, I think your dog would benefit from something like that for now, if she is that freaked out towards other dogs.

And be careful if you take her to a park. All you need is for her to bite some tiny little dog owned by an overprotective dingbat and to get sued and/or have your dog put to sleep by the county.

^^ I have had this dog for like 3 days. She wasen't around other dogs with her previous owner and I had my gf bring her little cockapoo over so it could slowly get used to it. "To take her out there" means to any dog park right now."

^ that sounds like a good idea, she's not really malicious, she's just very overprotective. If anything comes near me, human or animal, it goes into defense mode. I'm pretty sure if I just let her go it would be fine but like I said, I met like 2 dumbasses trying to tell me why she was growling one their way in so I was like fuck this it's not worth hanging out with these people anyway and went on the lake johnson trail with her.

You need to socialize that dog asap. Immersing her on leash at the dog park might help, but I'd say at the least do the group training and socialization classes at Petsmart.

If you're going to spend $ on training your dog take it somewhere decent. Petsmart may be okay for puppies and basic training/socialization.

I'd take an older dog somewhere else.

The behaviorist I used moved out of state so I don't have a personal recommendation.

I would not bring an unsocialized dog to a dog park without doing some training first.

Pupsi (http://www.pupsiinc.com/main.htm) is pretty close to you - they're one of the best kennels in the area and could do drop off training or have evening group obedience classes in the summer. check it out.

your dog needs to be socialized soon or it will always be like that around other dogs. Carolina pines has three separate fenced areas, and typically the two small ones are empty and get used by people who don't want their dogs around too many other dogs. That might be a good way for you to get her used to being at the dog park.

Carolina Pines dog park has seperate fences. Have your dog play alone in one just to get use to the idea of other dogs. They can socialize through the fence and if there is one calm dog, let it in (with the owners permission)
