Remember this thread?http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=463765&page=1Well after those numbers came out, Gore decided to put in some solar panels in his house among other things to help lessen his energy consumption.Good for him.Except now, he's using more energy than he did last year.

very good point marko.“Actions speak louder than words, and Gore’s actions prove that he views climate change not as a serious problem, but as a money-making opportunity,” Johnson said. “Gore is exploiting the public’s concern about the environment to line his pockets and enhance his profile.”What a great statement there. It sums up my opinion of gore and global warming.
6/18/2008 9:02:45 AM
If he was that deathly afraid of global warming as he reportedly is, he would change his lifestyle.
6/18/2008 9:08:41 AM
talk like that will get you a visit from manbearpig while you sleep
6/18/2008 9:09:24 AM
Gore just needs to get a raging clue.

dag...That's something I never understood about politicians. They get so much flack for their houses and stuff... why not just live in a semi-normal house? The wife probably.
6/18/2008 10:08:08 AM
And Gore just endorsed Obama..yikes.Some of his other recent endorsements for president:Howard DeanJohn KerryHimself
6/18/2008 10:11:15 AM
I cannot imagine anything more important than Al Gore's power bill.Truly, we need more think tanks and organizations to dedicate themselves to this important question.
6/18/2008 12:40:09 PM
shut the fuck up. If you can't see the relevance of his personal lifestyle versus what he preaches and profits from, you are naive.
6/18/2008 12:51:40 PM
but he buys those carbon offsets.he pays other people not to pollute for him!

not that i feel like this is really a topic worthy of debate, but does this time period include when the house was being renovated? i could see that using far more electricity than during normal use. otherwise i don't know. it seems ridiculous to me to live in such a gigantic house to begin with.
6/18/2008 1:13:10 PM
So he uses 19x times the amount of energy as the average household a monthHe basically runs an international non-profit agency from his home. To think he would use anywhere near the average is ridiculous, as his impact on global energy use is extremely low when compared to the size of the energy savings his advocacy has provided. In other words, he has pushed the world to save billions, if not trillions of kW hours and pounds of CO2.
6/18/2008 1:16:20 PM
Gore saw his personal wealth increase by an estimated $100 million thanks largely to speaking fees and investments related to global warming hysteria.
6/18/2008 1:23:20 PM
6/18/2008 1:23:43 PM
I'll take the smug hypocritical Al Gore over the fat hysterical one that we had circa 2004.

6/18/2008 5:09:02 PM
according to this same place you're getting your numbers from, Gore used 221kWh in 2006 and 213kWh in 2007. http://www.tennesseepolicy.org/main/article.php?article_id=367Please show me where this rise in energy usage is.HAS the definition of kWh changed?
6/18/2008 5:11:08 PM
LOL HAS IT? HE'S USING A SHIT LOAD OF ENERGY

well, if you look at the article from feb 2007 it says he used 221,000kwh per yearand the new article says he uses 213,000kwh per year.so. . . that tells me that he has decreased his consumption during 2007 even while the renovations were still going on.
