My brother and his wife used to work there - from what I heard from it, it wasn't a bad place to work. He worked there for a couple of years, then got a job at Siecor. He designed fiber optic cables, and now has his own business working with Super Absorbent Polymers.

It would be like a year from now before I did anything. I just have completed my first year of textile engineering-related work in VA, and some jobs ask for 2+ years.

I just want to get back to NC.

Some listed corning jobs say ceramics engineering, which is close, but not exactly like TE, so I dunno if I would be applicable

My fiance's dad has worked there for about 30 years. It is all he knows, really.
He does fiber optics over there..
